UNH Men’s Hockey 22-23: the start of something new, or more of the same?

Perfect three for three. You gotta admit with this historic season in the making, the possibility of the only two players to be sole double-digit goal scorers in their respective seasons are both named Liam. What are the chances of that?

Infinitesimal. Kinda like the chances of UNH finishing this season north of 11th place.

'Watcher, we just added another Connor to the mix as Ryan/Connor MacPherson just signed NLI's.... True story: alittle while back I had a class that had FOUR students named Connor in it...

HR predicts for tonight's game v Harvard:

Harvard 4 UNH 1 (We beat Harvard last season but they are on somewhat of a roll...here's hoping to be wrong!)

Also if you are coming to the game they are collecting winter coats and non perishable food items.... Go 'Cats!

I'd like to think this will be a more competitive game, but given past performance who knows. So yeah, I'll go out on a limb and say you're going to be wrong! I predict UNH 3 Harvard 2.;) The bigger question how many fans in attendance tonight? I expect it will be poorly attended, can they get 2,000 fans?

Came here to pose this exact question.
I say 1,200 tops (actual attendance, not reported in the box score)

Why so low attendance predictions? Students on campus and recovered from weekend activities. And, it’s Harvud, for crying out loud! One of our oldest nemeses. And NESN+ is covering the UML at BC game instead.

‘cats must start slow, lull the Crimson into a false sense of security while keeping the game close and then spring the trap game surprise by drawing a penalty and scoring a last minute PP goal for the win.

Attendance will of course be low for a mid week game. The difference between announced and actual speaks to the number of fans who support the team during tough times by continuing to purchase season tix knowing that they will not attend many games.

There was no evidence Souza could coach or recruit at the DI level before he was handed a high end job. There was no evidence Stewart could coach or recruit before he was handed an assistant position. Giuliano’s track record didn’t even exist...
“Mike is a master recruiter and evaluates talent very well,” said Umile

it may we’ll be the least accomplished coaching staff in the sport. And the results reflect that. Shame on every UNH coach or administrator involved in the process - because it was SO obvious and predictable the moment these decisions were made. It was labeled as nothing more than ‘constant negativity’, when it was as easy as guessing yellow and blue make green...
Saw this in the replies on Twitter after the Vermont weekend

Students being on campus is the only reason I went so high (1,200); if it were winter break this game would draw 300 tops, like UNH vs RPI midweek on break did a few years ago.
We haven't drawn well midweek since the mid aughts when there was a season ticket waiting list. Add in their dismal record + a stream on ESPN+ and there is little reason for anyone but students and the few remaining die hards to bother after a long day of work.

If there’s a 1000 here to start I’d be amazed. Student section is the band and 100 at best.

I wouldn’t bet the ML but UNH +2.5 I’d take. There is some weird feeling they win this

If shots on goal matter we are not winning that point. Gave up more on our power play than we will have total in the first.

new offense has a, yes singular, shot 16 minutes in
