UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Yes, you've said that a dozen times on here before. Someone who comes on to the internet to point out members of their team shouldn't have their academic scholarships may not be a first choice to be a volunteer at the golf tournament.

Show the post where Ive said that. You can't because no such posts exist.

I think many of us here would be quite happy to see Ayers become the next UNH coach. Perhaps he could even convince a couple of his recruits to join him in Durham.

With MS7 still having one year left on his contract though, and facilities renovations slated to begin soon, I think that decision may have to wait another year.

As was discussed a few pages ago though, our ADs contract is up in June. Maybe if we get someone new they want to “cut the fat” for underperforming coaches, and Souza may be a causality for a buyout of his final year (partial or full, who knows).

Many big decision loom in the near future, and TBD how the rest of the season goes. If we make it to Boston, I would be absolutely SHOCKED if they moved on from MS7 at seasons end.

Two big weekends left in the RS and 12 points on the table. Let’s see how many points we can get!
I guess I could live with Mikey becoming the next HC...🤣🤭😉

There was a note some pages back about some STHs wanting to be treated like major University doners.

My reaction to that is, NOPE, most just want to be treated like the important customers they are. Most I meet see major doners as just that. They just don't want to be treated like crap by the Athletics department. Ages ago the University cared about there hockey community... then Blue Skies came along and the "average man" has been treated like dirt since. See ticket office employee "if you think the coaches is the problem you shouldn't renew".

Yes Universities aren't businesses and still the season ticket holders are customers not inconveniences and the program should act like it.

My response to that ticket office employee "if you can't have even basic customer service, go find another job".

P.S. Potluck I have been ignoring you, and will be resuming that after this note. If you are who we think you are, you are actually a representative of the University and you should act like one, that means not being a general @$$ because you think you have anonymity on a message board. What happened to to you, you get a little inside position just to become a jerk here, maybe you need to examine yourself.
That was likely my post.

I’ve never been a UNH season ticket holder. I was a Celtic season ticket holder. The Celts actually are a business. Time dims the memory but I don’t remember much special treatment. Renewal bills came earlier and earlier. Seat price increased over 9x in thirteen years. Product quality decreased. I think that’s all standard language in the season ticket holder agreement template ;)

I do agree with you on the ticket office employee comment. There may be missing context or paraphrasing but even so a paying customer should not be left with even an inkling of that sentiment.

Hockey East Financial Data (2023-2024)

UConn$105.6 Million~$4.5M

UNH~$32M (Estimated)~$2.8M (Estimated)
UMass Lowell~$28M (Estimated)~$2.7M (Estimated)
Merrimack~$22M (Estimated)~$2.2M (Estimated)

I found an interesting note
UConn Athletics reported a record $105.6 million in total revenue, driven by a $7.6 million increase in self-generated funds (ticket sales and donations).

Wouldn't a full Whitt like in the 2000-2001 or the 2010-2011 timeframe help. That additional "increase in self generated funds" would help bump the spending up to the $35M range and could move hockey up to spending above Maine near Providence and UMass Amherst.

I'd take a token appearance from MS7 at a STH event for five minutes rather than Torts

I think the special treatment is just to be treated as a paying customer... so not so special. Unfortunately for more than 2 decades the Athletics Department has treated season ticket holders as an inconvenience. At least Umile had enough savvy to treat the public (you know UNH public institution) as important, not a problem.

My special treatment don't make me feel like I am putting you out when asking basic questions or asking you to have patience for my father who is quiet deaf in his old age and literally can't hear you through the glass.

KC Jones never spoke to me or any group I was part of. Not once!
perspective - Celtics 18k fans 82 games... UNH 17 games 6500 fans, public institution and College Hockey coaches regularly stop and talk to fans (you know via there FoH equivalent booster clubs)

Hell Umile stopped and said hi and shook my hand on Alumni night, and he doesn't remember my name, just my face as a season ticket holder and former FoH higher (not highest) level donor.

I’m not one who posts about running UNH hockey more like a private sector enterprise.

NBA teams play 50% road games too.

There are aspects you need to run like a business and aspects where you need to be aware to be a politician. Seems like Umile got that, ADs before blue skies got it and other hockey programs in Hockey East generally get it.

He did that to me once (and I'm sure he didn't know my name either) when I was walking down Main Street. It was during spring break so no traffic and he was driving the complimentary Dodge SUV. Asked if I was headed to Boston for the HE Semis. I forget who we were playing.

Why is it that you can seemingly find anything on YouTube but I can't find that commercial?:(
