UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Sorry to hear Scott. I see things a bit differently. I would like to see a little more in game adjustments for sure, however we have not had the easiest schedule and we were without, arguably, our 2 best players this weekend. FWIW this is a very young team, particularly on defense. Our offensive players are spending a great deal of time in the defensive zone making it that much harder to score. We have wins over #1, #10 (and one could argue #8 Maine- exhibition). Next weekend will be the true test, as I believe UConn is the best team in Hockey East this year. Maybe a big if, but if this group of players stay together for the long haul, I see a lot of wins on the horizon. This may be the best time in 10 years to get on board!! (Forever Optimistic!).

I know you're talking about NCAA eligibility but UNH has the oldest team in Hockey East with an average age of 22.4

What's it going to Take for New Hampshire to Get Unstuck? For the NH AD to take some MiraLax to the coaching staff, and do a deep cleanse.

Admit you ate the bad shrimp and see it's time for a new Chef. Putting in fancy bar TV's (Jumbotron), a smaller dance floor (rink) and a new menu (Major Juniors), but keeping the same cook and wait staff, isnt going to save the restaurant. Start over with a new Chef who has some coaching skills, salesmanship, determination and a plan. Seems to be working for The Bear (Black type in Orono).

Who would they interview? For a basic article I thought the point was made loud and clear about the present situation. Hit on the issues like money..bottom line? He begged the question about how long is too long. You can't keep defending 53-90-22 forever...

Not that this is surprising in the least ... but the level of your hypocrisy has now reached new heights (depths?). You protest the second anyone - especially me - dares to write something that goes beyond 140 characters. But you categorize the old Sports Illustrated as "authoritative", despite the fact that their features would often go on for several full pages of relatively small print ... yet now, even in their slimmed-down modern version, it's not good enough for our house Karen, but only because they've come to a different conclusion than the one you wanted them to.

You've now become a full-blown (?) parody of your own on-line, make-believe self. Congratulations d!ckhead lol 🤪

P.S. - how much longer before you start outing your DM blackmail list ... the desperate final act of a nobody whose schtick has long ago lost its dubious charm ...

Coach Souza doesn't do interviews, except with NESN folks guaranteed to lob him a few softballs. Stewart and Guiliano might as well be in the FBI's Witness Protection Program for all the press they (don't) do, probably due to an MS7 gag order. As far as the new AD is concerned, she hasn't spoken in public in the two-plus years since she's gotten here. Sadly, UNH keeps its propaganda under very tight cover.

Kudos to the UMass Lowell kid who wrote this piece, he's blissfully (naively?) ignorant of the way the game is supposed to be played in college hockey press world, i.e. play nice in the sandbox if you ever wanna have a shot at any real access to the programs ...

While I don't disagree with your last couple of posts Chuck, I'm sorry, this is just a poor piece of reporting/ writing. Red Smith has nothing to worry about.

The only good paragraph is the final one, and even then it contradicts what he wrote about Wiedler earlier in the "article." Comparing Dick Umile to Kevin Sneddon. Seriously? Kevin Sneddon is a "legend?" A word, btw, which the author overused in the piece.

Umile is 11th all time in wins, 42 spots ahead of the legendary Sneddon, who is 5 spots ahead of his predecessor Mike Gilligan, who seems a better comparison. Umile's teams appeared in the NCAA's 18 times, with 4 trips to the Frozen Four. Both Sneddon and Gilligan made 3 NCAA appearances and a single trip to the Frozen Four. Umile's winning percentage as a head coach is just over .600 - Sneddon (and Gilligan for that matter) were sub .500.

When the guy couldn't even get Souza's (unacceptable) record correct it should have been a red flag.

I get why the piece resonates with UNH fans, just thought you had higher journalistic standards, Chuck.

Buford: you’re a hillbilly redneck idiotic. The old sports illustrated writers were fabulous renowned writers. That’s, well, quite a difference , agreed? I do find it funny though you describe the old SI magazine stories as featuring long multi page stories written is small print. You do better with coloring books.

Good points...If the record is incorrect (I should have checked..) I stand corrected but regardless we all know its not stellar...

Well I did not technically break the rule in Lowell as Marty came over to us before the game to say hi to us. I guess next time I will pull back my hand when he extends his so Karen does not get butt hurt
