No, you don't love UNH hockey. What you love is drama and to respond to posts you don't agree with and call everyone names. There's a difference. Maybe try going to a game for once.

I've been to over 50 unh games over they years. While I recognize you don't like many of my posts directed at Buford (Chuck), Meathead (Norbert) and Elwood, the people I slap around have it coming. If you look at their posting history, they've been very comfortable taking cheap shots at UNH hockey players, coaches and supporters that really do care about the program.

They were kind enough to tell us that Comny was not liked by his teammates. Nice, huh? Probably untrue but why post such garbage?

Just take a look at Buford's photos. It's chromosome cringe worthy. We're talking about improper DNA at work.

In any event, if Buford, Meathead and Elwood would clean up their act, I'd stop slapping them around. But I respect that you don't like some of those posts.

7 CHL or Canada college transfers in the lineup last night for UNH and a Union transfer in net. Looks like Souza did terrific recruiting and took full advantage of the CHL opportunity. We can only hope he continues his success in the CHL and transfer route.

In a related note, Mike Lowry's twitter noted that incoming 2026 goaltender recruit Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau has two recent shutouts in the BCHL. Good news. The question I have is what type of league is the BCHL now. UNH 2027 goalie recruit Ryan Grout, who is highly touted and played outstanding hockey the BCHL, is now in the WHL. He's off to a bit of a slow start there but he's supposed to be superior to Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau. The CHL is getting kids that would have stayed in the BCHL to go the US college hockey route. I wonder of the BCHL is turning into the NAHL.

Some of us who go to nearly all the games actually know parents, players and some of their friends and do get inside information like, Conmy, unfortunately, didn't mesh well (wasn't well liked). That isn't to say Conmy is an a-hole, just that for whatever reason it didn't work and maybe winning would have solved all "the problems" as it normally does.

As to 25-26 I am happy with the start, certainly having season tickets and going to games for more than 40 something years I want to see a good product on the ice. At the same time Souza's record is his record, "You are what your record says you are" Bill Parcells, and right now Souza's overall record says he isn't a good coach. Did he finally see the light and things are going to be better from here, I certainly hope so, not holding my breath. The unfortunate part is we have seen early season wins over highly ranked opponents in recent years, a W is always better than a L. The next step for this program is to sustain the play, show player development over the course of the year and adjust as the opponents will, all key coaching elements we haven't seen the last 7+ years.

As for Souza, maybe the CHL break and the incoming facility improvements will give him a new lease on his career. I agree it's silly to judge college teams in October. I remember Jerry York pretty clearly used October to tinker. The BC wagon usually didn't go full speed until after the world juniors in December.

UNH should be judged on its conference performance. The out of conference stuff can be a bit deceptive.

I have no problem levelling criticism against underachieving coaches who have run the program into a decade long ditch, and the administrators who allow them to continue to do so. Sometimes there is addition by subtraction. Red Sox got better once they got rid of Nomar in 2004 and Devers this year. All Star players that needed to go from the personality side.

If you think the Sox got better because Devers left, you don't understand the difference between correlation and causation. The Sox got NOTHING to help their roster this season in return for Devers and probably gave up about 20 additional home runs and 60 rbi. Garciaparra was directly replaced by Orlando Cabrera and the Sox got Mankiewicz for first in that trade. Easy to see why Sox got better in 2004. You can't compare the Garciaparra trade at all to the Devers trade. Devers was a salary dump.

Buford and Meathead cite unnamed sources to make factual reports about players and coaches. I'm not out here making up stories about current and former players and coaches.

I could only follow live stats while on an airplane, but the Spartans out-attempted UNH 73-46. The blocked shots were big, essentially bringing that number down to 49-46. A good sign for what is hopefully a gritty and hardworking team this season...

Philbrick led the way with five. Carr had three. Winters, Lavins, Gagnon, Newcombe and Skrastins each had two; both of Lavins blocks came on the same sequence as time ran out in the second.

Those were huge blocks for Lavins...like I said..freaking WARRIOR! Don't mind me..still loopy from the surgery today which went great! Hope to make the opener..

I'm sure Sparty is gonna come out swinging tonight..assuming the player who got the 5 for the head check won't play tonight? Anyway...here's HR's most likely wrong predict..hope to be wrong...
