Maybe Souza should reevaluate his system then..:ROFLMAO:

Now you're

Now you're off the rails. Guess I really did hit a nerve. Take a deep breathe and count to ten. If that doesn't work go for a long walk on the beach. If all else fails seek professional help.

Why, for suggesting we have an adult conversation?

Again, you're sidestepping a gentlemanly invitation for a conversation and a beer. I'll even buy you a ticket since its been forever since you've attended a live game.

If you dont want to discuss hockey, we can explore DSM-5 and its clinical definition of delusion. We can compare notes and do a deep dive on your psychiatric bona fides before you explain the diagnosis you've just bestowed upon me.

It will be far more entertaining than the game itself.

Lowell has really fallen off in the last few years.

23-24- 11th
24-25- 7th
25-26- 9/10th

Skimming the web it seems like Bazin has gone a bit stale, and the CHL gamble hasn't been a success.

..sigh. And to think it was UML anchored by a top keeper..that began my UNH fandom. OK back to reality they had some great years..what 3 HE titles? But no trips to the Dance. Turned out some NHL'ers along the way. And oh yeah I sat through at least 3 / 8 to 2 beat downs at the hands of the River Hawks.

I hadn't been keeping up with them and was shocked to learn they had only won 8 games season before last...when we beat them 1 zip in the first round. Not sure whats up there things change as we know. Some things (and people) lose their lustre.

I guess in the end it's always satisfying to get wins with them somehow it makes what happened in 2013 that more bearable..!

Ps. Feel free to correct any inaccuracies I mean I thought Sam O was 25 so...

You wonder how quick of a “hook” UML will have with Bazin. He seems to be following a bit of the Umile arc (someone else mentioned it here before, I think Chuck?) albeit his “golden age” was far shorter than Umile. A great coach for most of the 2010s and a few HE titles to boot. He has a lot to be proud of during his tenure at the helm, especially leading a school/program that was historically not very good in HE. As HR noted though, he hasn’t had much success in the big dance.

With his past track record, I think he will get a bit more time, although I don’t know what his contract situation looks like.

If UML moves on from Bazin soon, and UNH continues to stick with MS7, that will be a very sad indictment on UNH, and a true sign of how we have come to accept mediocrity as the new norm…

Hey Ref .Lowell made the FF in 2013 after beating you guessed it UNH 2-0 in the North East Regional. They lost to Yale 3-2 in OT in the semifinals. This is the last time UNH made the tourney.

Doh of course had just referenced thst game in an earlier post. think I had them mixed up with NU geeze not batting 1.000 around these parts!

The problem is mediocrity would be a vast improvement. Mediocrity would be annually 4th-7th in Hockey East.

Mediocrity would give the "Souza Excuse Crew" some credence that the facilities had a major roll as the problem.

Mediocrity would like you to stop giving it a bad name by calling MS7's complete train wreck mediocrity.

OK... just rewatched Convicts vs Catholics with a friend that hadn't seen it. If you haven't seen that ESPN 30 for 30 it is great.

... and ...

There is a significant T-shirt component to the story.

If MS7 is back, wonder if a Souza Excuse Crew T-shirt would sell / work. Blue and White of course... Souza Excuse Crew on the front, the back is a derailed train with a hockey themed cargo all over... avoids the trade mark issue the shirt makers ran into in Convicts vs Catholics. Would be one heck of a protest.

I can agree with this. I think we talked about this a few pages back related to this point (shame on me for not following my own definition haha!)

We are along the lines of abysmal than mediocre. Mediocre is probably closer to what UML or Merrimack has been the last few years.

The time component is important to take into account as well. If you have a few years finishing 6-9th, that could be defined as a period of mediocrity in my mind. If it’s going on for 7-8+ years with only two years finishing finishing at 6th and 8th as your best years… yea that is train wreck/tire fire territory.

These next two games (UMA and whoever in the first round) will be very telling.

If UNH fails to score or gets 1 goal tomorrow, and lays an egg in the playoffs, there HAS to be a serious discussion about Souza’s last year. UNH sits at 60th in scoring in division 1, and dead last (by 5 goals) in Hockey East…

There also remains the question about the AD. If she is a “lame duck” at the moment (TBD), I’m not sure if anything will happen and Souza will be given his last year (albeit likely under huge pressure with a new boss looking over his shoulder). I also wonder if the renovations have an impact on keeping Souza around for his last year.

Speaking on the renovations, why hasn’t the university had any recent publicity on this? They had a lot 1-2 years again when it was first announced, But nothing since?! Why keep this under wraps?

Curious to see what others think: could tomorrow be MS7’s last home game?

They break ground on renovations next week
I remember Norbert said that - I was moreso curious why the school hasn’t made a public announcement about this? Or at least I haven’t seen anything on it. I would feel this would be something worth mentioning in the news, on social media, etc. But it’s been crickets it seems.

Did they send something to those of you who are STHs?
