Just trying to provide information. I have no idea how he'll pan out over the next couple of years. Is there any bigger question mark than who will replace Brian Foster next year?
Yes, Foster's replacement is the biggest concern, yes, it would be unusual for Digi to be the starter without having played much yet, and yes, I think he'll be the starter. Time to cross the fingers come October. I think. Really, I do.![]()

Downing continues to light it up in the BCHL playoffs along with Lellegia. Looks like Reid and Downing might now be on the same lines, actually. Ouch.
thought Reid was not UNH bound
There's been some discussion on this thread about whether there will be a suitable and comparable replacement for Brian Foster next season. Out of curiosity, I checked out the website of Matt DiGirolamo's former USHL team, the Waterloo Black Hawks, to find out more about his history. I found some very interesting statistics. It turns out that DiGirolamo compares favorably with two former Waterloo goalies whom you will recognize. Here's what the "Most Wins in a Season" table shows:
#1 Kevin Regan 2003 28 Wins 2.37 GAA .915 SV%
#2 Matt DiGirolamo 2007 25 Wins 2.41 GAA .900 SV%
#4 Matt DiGirolamo 2006 22 Wins 2.54 GAA .905 SV%
#6 Parker Milner 2008 20 Wins 2.90 GAA .902 SV%
In other words, DiGi's career in Juniors' Hockey was comparable to one of UNH's best goalies ever and to one of the current BC goalies (who saw quite a bit of rubber in the third period last Friday night). Maybe DiGi has more potential than we have seen since he arrived in Durham.

Nice, info on Digi………Next year we lose 1 D and 2 forwards and 1goalie, assuming no defections ( which I do not anticipate). I believe the pipeline looks like this:
Forwards:
Grayson Downing
Nick Sorkin
Jeff Silengo
Defense:
Justin Agosta
Joey Laleggia
Eric Knobel
Goalie:
Cody Campbell
I think they would bring all the forwards, even though Silengo could probably benefit from another year in the “U”. He is 20 at this point so they most likely bring him. Defense will be full with 3 players coming in……..do they push one to the following year?. Agosta left the “U” to go the EJ, not sure what that means. Knobel will be 20 so I assume he comes. Laleggia is young, ‘92 . Does he need another year?.....if they push him do they lose him?
BC just committed a player (Austin Cangelosi of Northfield Mt Hermon) for the fall of 2013. He's just the second player to commit to a school for 2013, the first of which is going to Miami. At this point (and I know it's early and players are bound to de-commit and whatnot) UNH has only one player committed for 2012 in Casey Thrush. I found that interesting.
On Leleggia - Judging only by his stats, and accolades only as a 17yr old in the BCHL.. he does not need another yr.. but the talk is he may in fact stay.
What worry is there of Laleggia bolting if he is pushed back, any?
