Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....
It was a great pleasure meeting and talking with "sterlippo" and his wife at tonight's game. He has experienced the lean years of BC hockey so he has a deep appreciation for what they have accomplished in recent years. He also reminds us that there is much to appreciate in a UNH program which has been consistently competitive for over a decade. I'm pleased that he got to witness such a competitive game on his first visit to the Whitt.
A few pregame adjustments which paid off:
(1) Putting Silengo at center between Henrion and Speelman. The hero of the Maine series got very little icetime on Friday night. He played very well this evening.
(2) Reuniting Sislo-DeSimone-Thompson. They had gotten stale in February but tonight they played like what they are - one of the top lines in Hockey East.
(3) Reuniting Kostolansky and Kessel at the points on the powerplay. With Kessel's reduced mobility, the team ran the risk of giving up short-handed goals with him as the only defenseman.
The parents of the seniors (and the underclassman) have much to be proud of.
