Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

Can you believe the photo looks that old? Coxy was simply unbelievable when it came to his knack for scoring....he had 4 games with 5 goals! Truth be told, and he'd be the first to agree, he had some great linemates.....Bob Miller and then Bob Francis helped create so many scorng oppurtunities with Coxy....such a pleasure to watch ....while he had as many girls as Rob Redford, Coxy was also a Natural.

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

I believe that it was the defenseman Jim Harvey who was also in the car. Warren had gone back to get the gas out of the trunk when the car exploded. I was living in the SAE house at the time and when Rick Olmstead came down for breakfast that is when we found out and the saddest part for me was that I had introduced Warren to his girlfriend and they had just gotten engaged. Not a good time for anyone.

Yes, you're right - it was Jim. He lived on my floor in Stoke (along with Tim Burke and Barry Edgar.) Great guy.

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

I would love to see that. Somewhere ther must be an archive of the older games that were broadcast on NH public television. I'm always hoping that the Athletic Dept or Friends will put together some kind of DVD about the history of UNH Hockey.......
Was a bit surprised to find that NHPTV still has home games from 2000-2008 available online for streaming: http://www.nhptv.org/productions/hockey/ - if I remember correctly, at the time NHPTV was the first to video stream live college hockey games. I was saddened to see their coverage of Wildcat hockey come to an end.

Outside of the '99 championship game and the Snively short posted earlier in this thread there is very little footage on YouTube or the interwebs pre-2000's. A DVD release of older footage covering the history of the program would be amazing!

Well its about time to get the 2nd half started, I know I for one can not wait to see some action hate the long break especially after great come from behind win up in Orono. Hopefully the boys don’t come out sluggish Sunday against St. Lawrence, seems to a pattern the last couple of years coming out of the break. Hopefully the keep up the play in the 2nd half they had in the 1st half and continue to improve as the season goes along and really don’t peak till playoff time. Hope everyone has a happy New Years and enjoys the game on Sunday.

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

Sunday's game for me will be about seeing another old teammate in Joe Marsh.....such a great guy, who used to break us all up with his stories about Snooks Kelley and BC...so many UNHer's still coaching around the leagues.....anyway, was it 2 years ago that the Larries beat us in an afternoon game? Hopefully the team will be sharp enough for this game....it will be good to talk with Joe either way....

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

Speaking of the second half, our colleague Biz Jacobs has video from UNH's mid-week Press Conference Today:

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

So, do you think that there will be any tickets available at the box office before game time?

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

General admission tickets are selling at the box office for$11 because students are on break. Reserved is full price $24.

I have an extra reserved ticket for Section 117, Row E - which is between the red line and blue line. At this late date, I'll offer it up for $20. I can arrange to deliver it at the will call booth an hour or so before the game.

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

Thanks, Huesie and C-H-C; need two tickets, so will show up at 2 pm. Hope that the Cats can lift my spirits after two tough 3-2 losses by my other team, Bentley, to Air Force the past two days; ouch.

Re: UNH At The Starting Gate....

Hey Everyone,

Here's video featuring Umile, Henrion, Sislo and St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh after today's game courtesy of fellow colleague Biz Jacobs:

Apologies in advance for the blurry image of Umile. We will have an update feature image for the video as soon as YouTube processes the feature image.
