I could be 4th best forward at BC if I play with 2 1st round draft picks.
Yikes - long night at the Norbert household!
You missed the word either in my previous post. As in either Hagens or Perreault. As in any true playmaker. As in anyone who could provide him space, share attention and give him goal scoring opportunities outside of having to create for himself all the time. But your post sounded really biting when you intentionally misrepresented what I said, so, kudos...
Are you his agent? What is the love affair with Conmy? So, your list of comparison, the only person drafted is, you guessed it Conmy.
Outside of all the stats, and if you want to get into that battle we can, the constant with his regression is coaching. I can tell you as a matter of fact that the LA Kings player development person was here the BU weekend and I talked it him Friday night, and he noted the struggle.
As for your +/- stats, how many of those are Whale's miscues? How about Reid missing Perrault on the shorty who skated right by him into the neutral zone and next thing you know he was alone?
Box scores only tell part of the story, actual visuals tell more.
Rest assured, I'm not his agent. I suppose Im simply an observer capable of separating my frustration/disappointment with the team's performance with my evaluation and expectation of individual players. The emotional anger you have towards particular players on the team is alarming. I guess I just find it childish to respond to a losing streak by insinuating the team's best players (any players) should transfer and would be failures upon doing so. When I'm critical I try hard to keep my emotions out of the process. To ensure I'm fair to the player statistically before I vent. To each their own...
Let's assume your anecdotal conversation actually took place. Next time you run into the LAK scout ask him what he thinks of the rest of the UNH line-up. Ask him if he thinks the team would be better off if Conmy transferred or was benched. I feel pretty safe assuming his answer would be a long laugh followed by a no...
Am I correct that the rest of your post insists that Whale/Reid play better behind Conmy and poorly behind the rest of the forwards skewing the significant difference in +/- production? Despite the poor positions in which he places them? And despite the other forwards doing such a fine job? If you want to threaten me with a stats or visual battle, I hope you can do better than this sort of analysis. Lol...
Stats and visuals are both necessary to player evaluation. I think anyone would agree Conmy (like any 20 year old) has development in front of him. Say that. I could take that seriously.
No one thinks he's the second coming of Christ. He is UNH's most impactful, most productive forward and far from a liability. He contributes far more to winning than losing. Ill trust how the UNH coaches deploy him and opposing HE coaches prepare for him, more than your 'visual' analysis...
He would play Top-Six minutes and situations on any roster in Hockey East...
He is averaging 1 pt per game, 14% shot percentage...
This is a bad thing? Is a point-per-game supposed to be an indictment? There are 15 point-per-game scorers in ALL of Hockey East this season (out of what, 300 players)...
Do you know how to properly interpret a 14% shooting percentage? It seems you do not.
Conmy's may have one PPG, but he has six PPA. That also means he has 12 five-on-five goals, TWICE as many as any other player on the team.
As for missing the net, looks like your narrative is just a narrative as he compares to the regular Top-9 forwards. Stats may not tell the whole story, neither does emotion...

Its ironic that a large segment of the UNH fan base seems to hate high-skilled, offensively gifted players. Ironic because all of UNH's historic success came on the back of high-scoring, offensively gifted rosters. And furthermore because their dreams of a more hard-working, risk averse, blue collar rosters have come true over the last decade plus. How's that working out again? They've certainly hustled their way to many tournaments, no?!
I hope he does, he will enjoy the 4th line at best at BC right? In 59 games he has 56 points and a 12.7% shot %.
This is embarrassing. In both its detachment of reality and the personal emotion that just oozes of the screen. This I cannot take seriously.
Honestly, if Conmy does consider a transfer at the end of the year. Ill wish him well. He certainly deserves better than this...

Maybe you or Jellyville would like to address the clear comparison I've laid out regarding Conmy and the other Top-6 forwards/Offensive D. For some reason it keeps getting stubbornly ignored in responses?
Go back and review, then tell me why is your ire directed solely at him? And if you deem your ire justified, how do you reconcile the actual production comparison on both ends of the ice? Don't just threaten me with a stats battle, make your point. I assume you have a statistical one...
These are players with 3-4 years of age on him, 1-3 years of experience and who's numbers have legitimately backed up. Players whose production simply pales in comparison, yet escapes your attention? It makes one wonder, once again, if your takes are nothing more than visceral reactions to your frustration with this season. I hope lashing out at the team's best talent at least makes you feel better....
