UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

I think that one key the past couple games has been the reconstituted first line of Devlin-LeClerc-Conmy.

UNH needs to work on face offs overt the break, as I think we lost 39-25 in the circles tonight.

We go into the break in the HEA cellar with a 14th in PWR, very weird.

Whale off? that last one was soft.

Yeah that 1st period wasn't great for him didn't help the D was not playing well and weak play in the neutral zone caught up with them twice. Was glad to see a much tighter game in the 2nd allowing the 'Cats to.get back in the game.

Interesting a zero penalty game but ECAC refs (at least from the games Ive seen) usually let them play more than HE refs. Dartmouth coach Reid Cashman threw a fit on what was def a trip but to no avail. Oh well...

Merry Christmas!!

Good to read in-person confirmation for my thoughts from watching on NESN. I was hoping for two goals by UNH late in third to supoort my prediction. Cannot recall whether it has been already noted for those who did not watch on NESN, Dartmouth’s Cooper Flinton (born Auburn, NH) is son of Eric Flinton who racked up 132 points in his four years at UNH, 1991/92-1994/95, and they both go by their middle names without first initials.

Would agree with that top line..2 goals from them last night. And yeah not great off the dots for sure where we have been solid in the past.

Wonder if other players who have been sitting will get a chance to play tonight with the exhibition game. Don't think UNH has played in one of these games in my fandom?

Interesting point about the under-18 exhibition games, as it has been at least since before 2008. Lots of home “openers” against Canadian teams, like St Francis Xavier (6x since 2008), Univ New Brunswick (3x), Acadia (2x), and Guelf (2019). I recall comments on our threads about these opening games against Canadian teams should be abandoned as several of our players got injured.

By later this evening we will know whether we will remain tied for the HEA basement with Mary Mack or in the basement all alone if Mary Mack earns a point against NU Huskies.

Hey we have 'em right where we want 'em!!! Personally I prefer to not share the coveted basement spot...ha!!

Well, you got your wish, HR, as we are now in the HEA basement all alone until at least mid-January, thanks to the Sons of Scotty Borek beating the NU Huskies 4-1 in North Andover this evening. But we have four games in hand over Yukon, three games in hand over NU, and two games in hand over everyone else. And we are still 14th in PWR.

Didn’t care for the way Devlin left the ice. Wouldn’t expect to see him again tonight, but I hope it’s not serious.

Didnt see.it? Game.got pretty chippy..nice fist fight with Lavins(?). What happened with Devlin?

Glad to see the 'Cats get things going. Was good to see some of the other players like Player Walsh both MacP's.(nice goal for Ryan and the goalies. Sweeny gets one too!

Nice hattie for Cy!

Onto the break. Be well all!

Wouldn’t want them to wear em full time but I do love these alternate threads! Shoulder patches are classic.

Wasn't at the game but saw the photos on UNH Facebook. I would go with them fulltime in a heartbeat. ANYTHING to burn the current fatty circus font. Have hated it since day one. Yeah, "lets take a fabulous, traditional font, trash it, in use this ridiculous new thing!" Thats what we got for the 6 digit consulting fee to a so-called marketing genius, whose name I can't recall at this hour of the day. And the athletic dept certainly had to approve. It wasn't broke! Idiots...

Do you wanna know how I really feel? Ha

Couldn't have been that serious. He was showered, suited up and cheering on Rafe in the stands with Babbage and Winters in the stands.

Agree, liked the look of these jerseys.

I would be bummed to see the “UNH” disappear from the front of the jersey - although I completely agree on the old font being much better than the current. Too many programs are constantly changing their logos/designs, etc. It’s nice to see the ‘cats still holding on to a bit of that OG tradition, despite losing the classic look.

UNH v RPI

Just poking around the RPI website for tickets as me and the Mr. might drive up /over? since it's a 3:00 start. Was reading about the 'history' between the teams. I guess we are
3-3 with them in recent years; remember going in 2015 to see us lose up there 4-3 after getting into a 3 zip hole. Then Andrew Poturalski has a hat trick but wasn't enough. Last
year was a 1-0 affair. So UNH has to take advantage of the fact that RPI has played better on the road than at home and seems to have a ton of goals against...Hopefully our offense can
put a few away EARLY and not get into the 2 zip down pattern we've been riding past 2 games.

Anyhoo, just some rambling about the future. Was nice to see UNH get a few more votes in the poll than usual; maybe if we can sweep RPI/Princeton and have a little help from
other teams we can come into 2025 a ranked team. And yes, norbert...I know it will be hard to maintain that once the HE season starts. You just go to Hawaii and forget about us
for awhile...have fun, too!

Imagine it's going to get pretty quiet here with the holiday coming up so do take care everyone...hope to see you in the New Year God willing...
