UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

So, you're telling me that the program is running a fundraiser (for an out-of-state charity FWIW) ... and the guy in charge of the program needs to be cajoled on-line into participation, rather than leading the charge?!?

I'll forego further commentary for now, but this all really kinda speaks for itself, sadly ...

Not sure where you’ve been but Wentworth Douglass is part of the MGH system. Good on them for raising money for a worthwhile cause.

How did we “break” Max Gildon?

Hel1 if I know HOW

all I know id you had one of the best skating/puck carrying D men in the NCAA, ever….for one semester. Then you broke him.

(honestly, I think it was concussions, but that’s just a guess. He behaved like a post-concussion hockey player…very tentative)

but I’m gonna BLAME UNH

Kinda what I was thinking, too, but not knowing what might going behind the scenes, I was reluctant to reply. I did notice that many players, their family members, the Souza family, and a few anonymous donors had contributed as of last evening, and one person got the fund over the $10k goal with two generous donations this evening.

Saw lines for.tonigh looks like Ryan MacP gets a shot at it...go 'Cats get the sweep!

Good to see the third and fourth lines tally goals in the early going tonight.

Thinking that Morgan Winters must be injured, opening the slot for Ryan MacPherson tonight?

Nice sweep boys! Connor Lovett gets a couple and nice to see Ryan MacP get his first career goal. Sort of half watched between socializing...Always good for team morale to have a decent weekend.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Guess UNH football was a non starter?

Onto the return match with the Huskies..

Well it gets worse. MS7 was upstairs and I asked him again if he would do it and he kind of joked and said no his wife would divorce him. Meanwhile every player went through the line and did it. At the end (11pm mind you) they all took a photo with a check presentation for over $10K and there was not a coach anywhere. MS7 did not speak before or after. Signed a few things and left the rest to the team.

Such a bad and horrible look in my mind,

Cancer research is not at the local level. Until you experience a family member dying of cancer you might not understand but never forgo the opportunity to donate. WDH is part of MGB but a lot of the money stays local.

Yes, he was hurt last night but was there for the post game unlike a coach to be named later.

Speechless ...

Absolutely. Just as simple as that, Drew. Very cool effort by the team, all involved, and all who contributed.

And extending Norbert's comment, if you personally have been diagnosed and then, hopefully, kicked this cancer, you wouldn't give two 5h1ts how the research funds are raised or who is raising them, as long as it happens.

Finally, I just gotta ask this...why does even this effort lead back to MS7 being the bad guy or the failure? Looks to me like he just let the guys have their moment/fun. It's like there's an MS7DS in here that has grown very old and boring, in my view anyway...

My father died from cancer and spent his last few days at WDH my freshman year at UNH. I was a commuter student living at home and almost flunked out because of the number of classes I missed when driving my father from Durham to Boston three days a week for chemo treatments. I have given generously to cancer research my entire life. The point of my post was that I did not understand why MS7 was being called out for this particular fund raising cause given that he was listed online as a donor.

Ditto. Please explain.

If you can’t be outraged(while not having your facts straight) what’s the point? This has always been a player initiative for every college sports team I know that has done this. Very strange why people would think Souza needs to be involved.

From the box score only, an epic playoff beat down. 'cats only TD was on a kickoff return. Tough way to end an otherwise decent season.

This was a team event. Every single player was there until after 11 and then presented the check as a team. I feel the coaches should have been there. The managers and trainer were there til the end but not the coaches.

Explain what? My last sentence that you bolded explains by point of view. I think that calling out the head coach in a public forum for not participating in a player-organized fund-raising event in which the head coach was already listed as a donor at the time of the post was unseemly. On the other hand, I have no problem calling out the coaching staff for their efforts in recruiting and decisions behind the bench. For example, glad that one of the MacPherson twins got into a game last night, and even better produced.
