Exactly! There is without a doubt that DU is a good team. That is not even a debate. But the !@#$ing officiating in this game is ridiculous and horrendous.

THe only thing missing from DU's PP was Bokal and Thul passing the puck to Colbourne.

You guys made it personal. To me its about UND and Denver. Not ME vs. UND fans. All I said is that UND gets beneficial calls and made fun of the moaning about referees. You made it a personal war. Now, I'm here to talk hockey.

And we know that won't happen. If UND manages to tie it up, they'll just have penalties called on them until DU takes the lead back.

There's a difference between regular moaning and when DU gets 8(?) straight power plays. The refs did a horrible job. It's not like UND was gooning it up. Ben Blood is tripped by John Lee and Brett Hextall is given a penalty. What the hell?

I actually think it has the potential to be a great 3rd period. Hak will point out that with everything that went wrong in the 2nd, they're still only a goal from tying it. If they channel their frustration into skating, I wouldn't be surprised to see a reprise of last night's 3rd period domination by the Sioux. My only fear is that some of our top line guys might be gassed from the 2nd.

since one should never make an argument without backing it up, i quickly went through all sioux home box scores this year back through the
06-07 season. the most amount of power plays the sioux had in a row was five (merrimack this year, kato last year, uaa ... either last year or two years ago) and they were all spread over two periods (two one period, three the next).

so no, und has never experienced this sort of "home ice advantage" (if you want to call it that), at least in recent history. you can feel free to go back through a few more years previous to disprove this if you'd like.

1. it's hockey. every ***** hockey player i've ever known has taken a dumb penalty at one point or another. und has a reputation for dumb penalties at times. so does du. so does air force. so does bc. so does minnesota. so does michigan. so does your cousin's mite team.

Even the DU announcers said the ref missed the tripping call. But Hextall must have done somthing, like open his mouth

I have trolled here yes....but I love it when people are blaming the referees too. There have been a couple of the calls that were bad....like when the trip occured....even Stickney thought it was a penalty. On Denver that is (edit)

However, my philosophy on this issue...

When it comes to penalties....its NEVER a penalty in the 1st person or group such as MY penalty or Our penalty....its only in the 3rd person....such as THEIR PENALTY. Those are the only penalties.

The problem is that if the refs are so anxious to call penalties, how does UND manage to get 8 in a row and DU is just a bunch of angels in that time?
