UND 2017-2018 Season Thread

Re: UND 2017-2018 Season Thread

Well I did but I had a parachute. Where was that team last night?? And Thome with a shutout?

This team is very much an unknown. It's a team that seems to spend a lot of time looking to make high end plays when candidly, I'm not sure the skill level is there to make high end plays.

I'm sure it's heresy over at ss.com to say something like this, but this is the kind of team that Dave Hakstol was born to coach. He excelled at taking teams with small amounts of skill and teaching them to compete, all the time, like it's the last two minutes of the game and you're down one. This team needs to be taught how to win a bunch of 2-1 and 3-2 games, because that's what it's going to take for them to make the NCAA's, and advance if they should make it.

Agreed. I noticed the attempt at plays that shouldn't have been attempted against the u18s, and continued last weekend. This is the least skilled team that UND has had in quite a few years, especially at forward. The lack of scoring from the top players will haunt them if they make the tournament, and it would not surprise me if they don't make the tournament.

Never have I ever seen Duluth dive as much as they have this game.... Guess that's the new way college hockey is

Starting to look like a team that’s going to struggle to make the tourney.

It sure does. They have 11 games left in the season before NCHC playoffs. I don't see them winning more than 5. That won't get them in the tournament, and winning the NCHC playoff doesn't look likely.
