Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

I'm surprised you guys so completely missed the boat here. In these days of intense media attention, a critical function of both a team's head coach and its star player is to detract attention from the rest of the team so that they can concentrate on the business at hand. With young stars like AP, Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice being so important to the team's success, I'm sure BF is very aware how important that function is. Childress too, though I think the beard is just a failed attempt at anonymity.

A story is getting legs in the tabloids that Adrian Peterson has been having an affair for the past year or so with Fox News' Greg Beck. They reportedly met an a nice little out-of-the-way club on Castro Street in SF last March and have been seeing each other on the sly ever since, usually at a bowling alley in Burnsville. If and when this story gets traction, stories of AP getting stuffed, failing to hang on to balls--even Farve's initials, will take on a whole new dimension. Things will get real crazy in Eden Prairie.

On the other hand, a sideline spat between the head coach in his star QB is pretty harmless.

What's your point?

Not only is it a bizarre way to explain what was going on, it really doesn't make any sense. "Stream of conciousness" is when your mind wanders from one topic to another, with thin strands of logic connecting each thought from the next one. Sort of like an association thread. Or daydreaming.

It's as if Childress is saying that he really wanted to talk to Favre about something else, got lost in a series of tangents and suddenly found himself trying to bench him.

That either doesn't make a lick of sense, or Chili is a FAR worse coach than even you guys make him out to be.

Soooooo...the big deal is he used a phrase wrong? Gotcha.

Do you show this much concern when people say they "couldn't care less" out of context as well?

No, this was no big deal at all until it came out that Chili has had the hook attached to Favre twice before this game. Kind of proves that he spends more time on that than figuring out how his team is going to block Julius Peppers.

I love how much you post after a loss and yet are nowhere to be found after a win...its like clockwork really.

He's unimpressed with a person in the NFL because he isn't a crackerjack user of the English language. He must be unimpressed with the entire NFL....and 93% of all engineers in the world.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

I was listening to KFAN in the car today while I was out doing some of my shopping. I always knew the favorite QB in this town was the backup, but once Favre arrived I figured we'd get a break from that.

And we did for 14 weeks, until today when some people were calling for TJack to play and saying he should have been in against Carolina.

Are these people insane? They're probably the same people who 1 season or 2 ago were trying to run TJack out of town.

It just amazes me the fans in this town.

I guess so...

Funny thing is pretty much every coach in nearly ever sport talks like a moron...guess he never got the memo ;)

edit: ajoyce, this town is friggin nuts. The vast majority are closer to being like Scooby than anywhere near rational. Remember half of them were saying AP should be benched earlier this year. They also alternate game to game whining that we dont run enough or we run too much.

Believe me, I know most of the sports fans in this town are crazy and irrational.

But I thought that having a sure thing, 1st ballot Hall of Fame QB who has broken almost every meaningful passing record in the NFL would be enough to make the fans here happy.

And I guess it worked for 14 weeks.
