Sifferlen officially no longer committed to UMass Lowell. Wish him nothing but best. He'll make a very good d3 or Atlantic player.

Former recruit Tyler Sifferlen is heading to UMass Boston.
Tyler Sifferlen @Stiffy_11
Excited to say that I will be continuing my hockey career at UmassBoston thanks to all my friends and family for the support
Good move for him. He'll excel and be a superstar there. Wasn't progressing and developing enough for DI so good fit for him.
And in the meantime, Lowell continues to have the smallest recruiting class for 2017...
4 Forwards, 1 Defenseman, and a goalie to replace 5 forwards (although Fallon/Francis basically count as 1 everyday forward), no D, and 1 Goalie. [for 2016]
Flight risks are CJ Smith and Zink, plus maybe we lose one of the sophomores to a transfer?

I wrote all this thinking you were commenting on 2016, now realizing you said 2017, and wow seems like some work needs to get done/they are keeping recruits a secret (I don't believe this, but here's to hoping).
Stinks for Lowell that he wasn't able to fit into D1, but good for him to continue his playing days.

I am disappointed it didn't work out. I was looking forward to seeing a local kid like him play. I recall Hokydad spoke highly of him and said is a good leader and would be a good fit for Lowell.
