UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

UMass picks up another '99 commit, for 2018. We're still the only Hockey East school with no one for 2017, never mind 2018.
Merrimack picks up a '99, F Jordan Seyfert.

Mike McMahon ‏@MikeMcMahonCHN
'99 F Jordan Seyfert has committed to Merrimack for 2018. Pennsylvania native. Played for CT Wolf Pack last season.

I haven't been one to get too worked up
over the lack of recruiting news but its very strange that at this point there are only 4 commits for beyond this season. I guess there won't be much to follow in the jr leagues this year.

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Ex-BU commit Maxim Letunov had an issue with BU admissions and switched to UConn for this incoming season I believe. One of the best players in the USHL last year, and a 2nd round Blues pick. Their recruiting has been very good (and scary).

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Vermont picked up a '99 as well from Tabor.

we picked up a '99 Honda Civic... fresh tires...

I echo the others on recruiting... the longer this goes the more I worry about trouble

Unbelievable......Vermont picks up a '02.

Vermont Commits 13-year-old Anthony Cipollone
02-born forward Anthony Cipollone announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he has committed to Vermont.
Cipollone’s brother, Joseph, is a ’99 that committed to Vermont this past January.
Cipollone becomes the first ’02-born player to commit to a college program. He turned 13 years old earlier this season.

Wow. We saw something like this in some other sport a while back as well....

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Well, apparently the '16 class has grown by four since those four were expected to come in this year...

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Every time I see those young kids doing that it makes me cringe on so many levels. Kids with any sort of talent at all are not kids anymore waaaaay to young. There was a kid that skated with lil until he was almost in HS. Farmed out all over the place, went to all sorts of elite prospect things, never really got to be a kid because they were too busy getting him 'seen'. The kid is now a has been before college. At 13 he was amazing.

In the last month or so, BU (3), BC (2), Vermont (5), PC (4), Maine (2), and NU (3) have all picked up commitments for 2016 and beyond.

And not a peep out of Lowell recruiting since March. We are the only Hockey East team without a 2017 commitment.
