Is it free to go to? I can't seem to find anything about tickets anywhere.

Playoffs are starting up in juniors.

BCHL playoffs started last night, with Evan Anderson scoring the GWG in a 4-2 win for Langley.

Powell River was a 3-2 winner, with Jeff Smith making 28 saves for the Kings.

Malden Catholic is in the Super 8 Semis after a 6-4 win today, and a series sweep over Catholic Memorial.

Sifferlen with a 2-1-3, and the MC student section with a phenomenal "This is HIS house" chant for the future River Hawk on the Tsongas ice. Nice. :D

Sifferlen is making his case for Mr. Hockey in this tournament ... His second of the game, 5-4 MC at 14:58.

Easily the best player on the ice tonight. MC's starting goalie had a rough game and was pulled when CM made it 4-2. But MC was so much more talented and polished than CM it was just a matter of time.

Shout out to NU recruit Matt Filipe who embarrassed CM 1v4 and scored a beautiful SH goal in the second.

A couple links on UMass Lowell recruit Tyler Sifferlen from his team's 6-4 win over Catholic Memorial in Super 8. UML assistant Json Lammers, BC assistant Greg Brown and UNH assistant Scott Borek were joined in attendance by Umile, York, Madigan and Dennehy.
I'd heard from some friends at UNH that Umile doesn't actually do much scouting (of course, they might have an agenda), so I find this interesting. Surprised Bazin wasn't there himself.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I wish it was easier to find out who schools have actually made offers to. In a way, CFB and CBB have this part right, as it helps grow interest as recruiting is the lifeblood of a program. I don't ever want hockey to go as dirty as the recruiting for those two sports is though.

In BCHL playoff action ... Powell River with a 3-1 win last night, takes a 2-0 lead in their best of 5 series. Jeff Smith's 26 saves was good enough for the #1 star.

Evan Anderson had an assist, but Langley lost 4-3 and their season is now tied.

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Wouldn't surprise me to know someone was there. Hopefully a talented defenseman for next season!

And BTW, asking a recruit his name ... isn't illegal. ;) I've done it. That's how I found out about a commitment a few years ago before anyone else.

Still waiting for news on a defenseman for next season.

Penn State just had a defenseman decommit, Bo Pellah (Youngstown USHL).

On a defenseman? How about two or three? If Folin leaves, that leaves us with 4 blue line veterans next year and only Mueller coming in. Even if Folin returns, that's only 6. There's no depth whatsoever. This is scary.

Am I missing something? I count 7 returning next year:

Senior - Kamrass/Suter
Junior - Folin/Amlong
Sophomore - Kapla/Zink

Plus, there's Dalton Carter who will be either a sophomore or more likely a redshirt freshman.

I was off by one somehow. So if Folin leaves, they still only have 6. No idea if Carter was a stop gap or will actually be on the roster next year (ala Butler).
