UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I would put Cam Ellsworth on the short list too. Not sure if he's still interested in coaching, but he had an incredible record at Norwich (66–14–10), one of the best D3 programs, and he was the primary recruiter during those UML glory days.

One of the Lowell decommits Aidan Dyer commits to Ferris State.
Former recruit Jack Solomon is heading to Air Force.

Jason Feldman
@PBFeldy
Goalie Jack Solomon from @theaustinbruins
has committed to play for former Austin Mavericks and Rochester Mustangs head coach Frank Serratore at Air Force.Solomon was previously committed to UMass-Lowell. We’ll have a story on his journey to Air Force later this week.

Is it me or is it strange that we haven't picked up a single commitment in over 6 months now? I know we picked up one in July, but he was for this year's freshman class.

If you were going through a coaching change I guess this is what it looks like. Is this the final year of Bazin’s contract? To have the level of de commits and no new ones seems strange, I agree.

I could be wrong, but the last I saw, he was signed to a 5 year deal that would end after the 2026/2027 season.

In regards to the decommits, someone earlier brought up a good point as to why that might have happened basically saying the players might have been told to look elsewhere, not that they decommited themselves. But I have no real idea.

I can understand some of the others, but telling 19 year old Elliot Gulley, averaging more than a PPG in USHL that there’s no room on the roster seems reckless. I guess NIL could be a factor though. He might be exceeding expectations and wants more money.

The "problem" is that college hockey (outside of the top recruits) doesn't get the information that basketball and football do. So in many cases, we'll never know why a player decommitted, or if it was even the players choice.

You could solve that problem the old fashioned way - bribe someone.

We are in desperate position going forward sad situation

Coach Boschetto had some real top end talent that he coached with Slovakia. Currently looking at their roster, there are some prospects he may want to bring in. He also coached Libor's younger brother who was a defensman on the team

Kresl (playing in the NAHL) is the only forward averaging a point per game. Jones is struggling (4.40 GAA). Yikes all around.
Yes, it's concerning with the lack of production of most of the recruits' and the lack of recruiting news. Most of the HE teams continue to add recruits on a daily basis.
Here's the current totals of HE recruits from the Heisenberg site. I wonder how up to date the site is, it must be a full-time job keeping track of all the player movements.

BC - 17
BU - 18
UConn - 21
UME - 34
UMass - 33
UML - 11
MC - 30
UNH - 20
NU - 22
PC - 21
UVM - 19

I'm not sure where some of these programs are going find room for all these recruits.

Kids will flip and teams will decide to move in other directions. Due to the volatility in D1 right now a lot of teams are stockpiling commitments just in case, then they'll revisit down the road. One bad year or coach firing could cause an entire roster to jump ship. Lowell coaches need to start gauging who's staying and who's leaving ASAP. Maybe they already have, and most of the roster has indicated they plan to stay, so not much room to add new commitments with only 6 set to graduate.

And we have 5 commits that will be 21 next season, so they will almost definitely be coming in.
