UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Take it for what it's worth to you, but here's NZ's recruiting class rankings (based on when they see the players coming in):
Incoming Class of 2026, 31 of 63, but that still includes Kroll (3.75), Busch (3.5) and Romeo (3.75), the first of whom is already here and the other two decommited.
Incoming Class of 27, 59 of 59 (4 programs do not have a 2027 commit)
Incoming Class of 28, unranked. According to NZ, 38 programs have an incoming commit in 202but Lowell isn't one of them, along with UConn, they are the only two teams without one.
Great job Norm and staff I'm not gonna escape the bottom maybe ever Scott hope you're happy you love being down the bottom like I said change is good

I just hope the coaches are doing their due diligence and already gauging who's staying and going. They really can't afford to get caught off guard with a ton of guys hitting the portal and not having a plan in place. Boschetto seems to have a good grasp on the current state of college athletics, so hopefully he knows they need to get out ahead of it. Also, I'm getting strong vibes that he's the head coach in waiting. I don't know how much more patience Norm will have with this new landscape and continued mediocre results. That said, if and when the time comes, I don't think it should be an automatic promotion from within. Plenty of external high level assistants and head coaches in lower conferences that deserve a look.
Some of the HE programs that have succeeded recently brought in high level assistants who could recruit to man their HC jobs (UConn and Maine come to mind).

When did I ever say I was happy being at the bottom? I will support this team no matter what. This team was near the bottom for quite a while before Norm arrived and I was still there every game, as were quite a few others on here.

All 900 fans they used to let my kid take home the pizza they would buy too much. I remember the days buddy and it's fast approaching again.

Yes, it's concerning with the lack of production of most of the recruits' and the lack of recruiting news. Most of the HE teams continue to add recruits on a daily basis.
Here's the current totals of HE recruits from the Heisenberg site. I wonder how up to date the site is, it must be a full-time job keeping track of all the player movements.

BC - 17
BU - 18
UConn - 21
UME - 34
UMass - 33
UML - 11
MC - 30
UNH - 20
NU - 22
PC - 21
UVM - 19

I'm not sure where some of these programs are going find room for all these recruits.
UMass has picked up three more since then. 36 commits is insane. Maine is up to 35.

It will be interesting to see when players start dropping off their lists.

Two of those recent UMass recruits are 3rd and 5th round NHL draft choices. Both are '06s with 4.25 and 4.00 NZ ratings. One of them, Masse, is tied for 3rd in scoring (67) and 2nd in goals scored (37) in the QMJHL.

Just screwing around for a minute and looking at their commit list. If I was to make a few assumptions (Heisenberg is right on the expected date, using the earlier year if there are two listed and everyone without an incoming year, using the year they'd be 20 ... ie a 2007 DOB, I'm assuming 2027 incoming): they have 14 that would be at school later this year, 18 in 2027 and 4 in 2028.

I know that's not how it will play out but it's just something I was curious about. They currently have 24 freshmen-juniors on their roster (conveniently 8 per class). It's also interesting that of their oldest commits in terms of when they announced they were heading to UMass, 4 of the 5 have decommitted and all had made their choices prior to the end of January 2023. Lowell's oldest commit to back out was from December 2023.

The two defensemen above Grumley are both '05s, while he's an '07. So that's a good sign.

Jones stats continue to get worse, which isn't a good sign.
