UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Nice to see a '93, and apparently we now have the replacement for the Chris Eiserman's spot. I wonder if this really is for next season though, since he is a '93, and we potentially will still have 3 goalies on the roster next season (even though you do have to wonder about Boulanger's spot on the roster).

He's got a 2.29 GAA (11th best in the NAHL) but is the best goalie in the league with a 93.9% save rate.
I was wondering the same thing about when he will actually come in. Carr is playing great and the coaching staff seem to be high on Robbins. I can't see them bringing a goalie in just to sit on the bench.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Michael Fallon was the third star in Chicago's 4-1 loss on Saturday night in the USHL.

Greg Amlong was a -1 in Cedar Rapids loss on the same night.

In the NAHL, Adam Chapie was the #1 Star with a 2 goal performance in New Mexico's 5-4 loss. In a 2-1 win for Odessa, Connor Hellebuyck was the #2 star with 39 saves on 40 shots.

In the BCHL, Michael Colantone had a 1-1-2 in Prince George's 3-2 loss Saturday night, and he added an assist on Sunday as his team won the rematch against Westside 3-2.

In the EJHL, Dylan Shapiro had an assist on Saturday night in a 4-2 loss for Rochester against the Huskies, but followed it up with a 1-2-3 in a 5-3 road win the next night, also against the Huskies.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Logan Johnston has returned from his suspension on fire so far this season. He had the GWG in OT and added an assist in Penticton's 3-2 win last night in the BCHL. He has a 3-4-7 in 4 games so far. I hadn't realized they have 3 Reilly's on their team (including twins) and all are going to Minnesota.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Recruit Cory Scammon has an assist in three games played. Cushing is currently 2-0-1

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

2013 Commit Casey Shea listed as one of the top players to watch in Division 1 Mass High School hockey by the Boston Globe. Amusing to see that the first time they note that he's a Lowell commit, the next time a BU commit. He's a senior so it'll be interesting to see where he plays next season (or the following possibly).

Two of the other Top 5 players are brothers playing at Lowell Catholic.

I thought he was a Lowell commit ...

My apologies, I should have been more clear. He is a Lowell commit. I was amused that the Globe piece had him going to two different schools in two different paragraphs.

My comment in regard to where he'd be playing next year was more in regards to USHL/EJHL, etc?

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

UML commits in action last night...

Michael Colantone was named the 2nd Star in Prince George's 4-3 loss in the BCHL, with a goal.

Also in the BCHL, Logan Johnston had no points, but his Penticton team won their 13th straight game with a 5-4 result.

In the USHL, Greg Amlong had 2 assists but was a -3 in Cedar Rapids 6-5 loss in OT.

In the NAHL, Connor Hellenbuyck allowed 4 goals on 25 shots in Odessa's 4-1 loss, while Adam Chapie was held scoreless with a -2 in New Mexico's 6-1 loss.

Dylan Shapiro had an assist in Rochester's 6-3 loss in the EJHL.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Saturday night actions for UML commits:

Adam Chapie was named the first star, as he scored the loan goal for New Mexico in their 5-1 loss in the NAHL. Also in the NAHL, Connor Hellenbucyk was named the third star making 37 saves in Odessa's 2-1 win.

In the USHL, Greg Amlong had a power play goal (but was a -2) as Cedar Rapids lost 6-2, while Michael Fallon had a goal as Chicago lost 3-1.

In BCHL action on Saturday night, Logan Johnston had no points, but Penticton won their 14th straight with a 6-2 decision. Michael Colantone also had no points as Prince George tied 3-3. On Sunday, Penticton made it 15 in a row as Johnston had an assist in a 4-1 win, while Colantone also added an assist, also in a 4-1 win.

I missed this last week, but in the EJHL, Dylan Shapiro was named the Rookie of the Week for his play during the first weekend of December. On Saturday night, he was held scoreless in a 5-0 loss at Green Mountain, and had two helpers in a 5-2 loss to Bay State on Sunday.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

From the UNH recruit thread: It looks like UNH maybe losing one of their recruits.
Word is Mike Vechionne is moving on to another school. word is denver and others all over

Vechionne played at Malden Catholic before heading to Tri-City (USHL) this season. Nothing official yet, but HD is usually pretty accurate. I wonder where he'll end up.

He was a huge pickup for them too.

USHR is reporting Vechione has decommitted. UNH wanted him to play another year of junior, he wants to play college hockey next season. He's currently looking for a new school.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Look for Union, Holy Cross and U Mass to move hard and quick. Lowell should be all over

Will be an impact D 1 player+

There's a lot to like about Lowell

What happen with UNH? Does he need another year in Jr or was it a numbers thing? I hope Lowell is involved, although they already have a large number of recruits coming in next season.
