UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

4. Had offers from over 10 schools, many with bigger names than Lowell. He is committed and going. Wants Hockey East, feels he has something to prove and likes the area.

5/. Had 25+ NHL deveopment camp offers and is going to 2, maybe 3. Florida and Toronto for sure. Now Vancouver is all over him..

25 nhl teams, 10 big name ncaa teams.. yet only the worst team in hockey east offered him. thats weird.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

I am sure some of the BC fans would love him to go there and be the ML they had.

For Lowell's sake, I hope "ML" is better than what he showed at BC.

Not the one who led all d in scoring, and nhl guys are all over.

I predict Lyles plays a grand total of 0 games in the NHL...what do you think hokydad? I know it will be tough for you to give an opinion without mentioning what NHL scouts are saying in your head.

As a courtesy to you Nick, I e-mailed Toronto, Florida and Vancouver

Something tells me they didn't answer you...or hit you with a restraining order.

will be fun to watch the bc vs lowell games...

Not really.

Anyway, I'm just glad you're posting Lyles updates everyday and keeping your idiocy out of the BC thread.

Carry on, Lowell fans.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Hokydope every once in a while has something useful to say that is inside knowledge or at least ahead of the general news media, you know stuff he read on USHR or googling "Malcolm Lyles." He does go to enough games that he knows what he is talking about, but he's a very sad individual who gets off by making obscene and absurd comments on the internet to rile folks up. I'm sure Malcolm Lyles will be a decent defenseman at UML, but all this garbage about how many NHL teams want him and how many college teams want him is just that - garbage.

OK we all know you don't like each other. Maybe we should make a thread just so you can pizz at each other?

All this does is show the arrogance level of BC and their fans. Period.

How is clipping and pasting a quote an obscene statement. Or posting a link to an narticle. Its not his fault he is playing so well.

I know he is not good enough for BC but what the heck. Denver for one was all over him as were other HE schools. He wanted Lowell because him and the ast coach, Green, hit it off early and he wanted to play for him. Period.

Is it his fault this was written in local paper.
Lyles, whose brother Milton plays field lacrosse for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, has been a star almost every game the last month.

In regards to NHL teams. One told me yesterday that he doesnt believe ML will make it out of sev camp without being signed. Also told me that one of the scouts in his org got lambasted by his GM for not bringing him to their attention. Believe what you want but it is reality. We all know only BC has any d with potential. Not sure if he will play in nhl but will play pro for a long time.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

His mother will make sure of that. ...

He is going and will be a good player there. Great team kid and will come in and earn what he gets.

I love these BC guys who want to tell the Lowell fans he is a joke because he left there. Nothing would be sweeter to see than Lowell lighting up BC next year. If I was a BC fan, I would be more worried about next year without Muse, Atkinson, Gibbons, Whitney, Hayes, Kreider and maybe Cross and Dumoulin.

Well Cross & Dumoulin have said they are staying, but anyways I'm more focused on the tournament opposed to what might happen this summer.

For the record I don't think Kreider leaves.

No offense to UML fans but, if Denver was all over ML & he is the 2nd coming of JC why would he go to a team that was 5-25-4 and doesn't have a coach?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a few posters on a message board is not a reflection of Boston College. Also, how are we being arrogant? Rather than group everyone together, give me a specific example.

LOL

Nobody said this.

Nobody said this either. Pretty sure the consensus is that you're the joke. Not "ML".

Well Cross & Dumoulin have said they are staying

Clearly hokydad has not seen the info on Dumoulin. If he did, he would have hoped nobody else saw it so he could claim it as his own inside info.

here is why.

Outside the fact he has been here since he was a kid and went to school here from 7th grade on...

amazing how you have a comment on every single point, none of which you have any idea what you are talkling about

if that isnt arrogance I dont know what is.

Thanks for NOT answering my question.

Maybe this will be considered arrogant...learn how to use the ***** quote function.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

So apparently no matter how many times you ask politely, the BC fans just won't shut up.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

It takes two to tango.
Except he's not. He's giving us information, and whether we choose to use it to hype up the kid and think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread ... is up to us. And apparently you guys seem to keep thinking we're going to put these huge expectations on him, when none of the Lowell fans have said anything to that effect.

Hokydad posts up comments about games or whatever, and you guys are just apparently obligated to throw in your $0.02.

Umm he's responding to us. So, if you don't like it, you better get on your high horse and shout him down too.

I dont have to answer your questions. Every single thing I posted is a fact and is meant to give info to any UML fan who cares to read it. I think it could be an interesting scenerio to watch unfold. I would love it if he went there and did very well and had big games vs BC, love it. It alos would be fine if he went there and was part of the team and contributed in any role they ask, no matter how big or small. Whatever he does will be better for him than the situation he had at BC. Pretty tough for a kid to walk away from a degree at BC, go to Vernon British Columbia, with no guarantees, not even a spot on the team and zero interest fromm any colleges. They didnt even know who he was.

To do that and end up as a first team all star, top D on top team in league, a league who has pumped out many, many high end D 1 players is quite an accomplishment. Leads their D in scoring in both regular season and playoffs. Scored another goal in big game Tuesday nights in a 3-2 win as well as having a shorthanded goal waived off. To be a first team all star in that league is huge.

FYI, last years all stars, Matt Bodie, who had 32 points as a freshman at Union this year and Heywood at MC who had a great season are the type of players who make the all star team. Why shouldnt Lowell be happy with the addition.

That league has over 185 kids playing D 1 now, great league.

Wow ... it's like dealing with a five year old. "But he's doing it too!" OK, never mind ... here I thought if I asked politely, you'd get the hint but apparently that's not possible.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

I dont have to answer your questions.

Then don't make claims of BC arrogance when you can't back it up.

As for the rest of your post...I want him to do well at UML. Will be interesting to see how the coaching change impacts Lyles.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Wow, hoky, you don't seem to be too well the last two days? Not handling the Warsofsky news well? Mistake the Ike and Mike's in your van for your real pills again?

This whole thing is absolutely pure comedy.

So I think even though you won't agree despite evidence to the contrary, we all have been hoping for the best for Malcolm "Styles" Lyles. I know I sure do.
