Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Recruit Mike Conderman was expected to sign a National Letter of Intent last night in Muskegon. The early signing period runs from November 10, 2010 to November 17, 2010.
Follow up article on Mike Conderman signing his National Letter of Intent.

I committed in the spring, said Lumberjack forward Mike Conderman, who had several college recruiting him, but felt most comfortable with the campus, the facilities and the coaching staff at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Mike Conderman had a 1-1-2 in two Muskegon games this past weekend. In their 4-3 W on Friday night, he had a goal and was named the first star.

Tyler Brickler had a 1-0-1 in two weekend games for the Westside Warriors.

Scott Wilson had a goal in his second game back from the World Junior A Challenge in Georgetown's win.

Colton Saucerman was a +1 in two straight games as Corpus Christi swept two games at New Mexico.

Monty, Terrence Wallin had a goal in Gunnery's 3-2 scrimmage win over Cushing yesterday. Wallin is also one of the captains on the team. Gunnery has two scrimmages scheduled for Monday 11/29/10 against Northwood and Kent before opening the regular season against Choate on 12/4/10.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

At the "We really need something positive to look at" end of things, Scott Wilson had a 1-2-3 and was named the third star in Georgetown's 3-2 win yesterday in the OPJHL. In the USHL, Mike Conderman had both goals for Muskegon in their 3-2 loss, and was named the 2nd star. He added a goal in a 5-3 loss the previous night, and now has 6 points (5-1-6) in the last 5 games for Muskegon.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

On the radio show tonight Blaise mentioned they have 4 forwards and 2 defensemen coming in next season. He talked briefly about Scott Wilson, who signed his National Letter of Intent. According to Blaise, Kitchener (OHL), the same team that signed Melchiori, is really after him. Blaise sounded confident when he said; Scott and his parents are committed to UML.

Six players coming in next year is good. Hopefully they get one or two more and nobody decides to play in Canada the week before classes start . The thing that concerns me is that if you look on Heisenberg's list, other Hockey East teams are well along in their 2012 recruiting and beyond. If Wilson comes in next year, that means UML's only recruit for 2012 is Eiserman the goalie. I'm not sure how many visits they're sponsoring and how much they're running around the recruiting trail, but hopefully they can get 5 or 6 2012s before all the top ones have committed.

You can't have an official visit (paid for by the University) till the players are into their senior year of high school (or equivalent level).

So Wilson, Conderman, Brickler and Wallin as forwards, and Eiserman and Saucerman as D. I wonder if that means he's done for 2011?

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Nice bit on Mike Conderman, from the USHL site. He didn't have any points last night though in Muskegon's 4-3 loss.

Tyler Brickler had an assist in Westside's 2-2 tie on Friday night in the BCHL.

Colton Saucerman had no points in Corpus Christi's 3-1 loss.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Noticed that Heisenberg took out the "2011 or 2012" from Scott Wilson meaning he's going to be a 2011 as suspected in the posts above. Hopefully he doesn't succumb to pressure from Canada.

Not too sure how Blaise's recruiting process works. Do he and the assistants hit the recruiting trail hard over the Christmas break working for committments? If so, hopefully they can pick up a 2011 and a 2012 or two over the break.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Mike Conderman was a +2, and had an assist in Muskegon's 3-2 win over Chicago today in the USHL.

Also, Scott Wilson has been selected to be part of Team Canada East in the 2010 CJHL Prospects Games, which are taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. A little blurb about him here.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

I have no idea if UML was even involved, but my dreams have been dashed ... Evan Rodrigues to BU.

stop pining over the recruits you didn't/can't get and work on those that are interested in UML. Remember it is not always the best players but the right players that can get the job done.

Thanks for using that as your first post. It's not pining over guys that we can't get if we don't even know if they were interested. If you knew the reason I wanted him to come to Lowell (and it's beyond the hockey aspect) you'd understand.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

In some good UML news, Terrence Wallin had a hat trick and two assists in Gunnery's win. He has 4 goals and 4 assists in Gunnery's 4 games so far.

Well, I didn't know there was any good news for UML. Nice to see different. Sigh.
