Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

NeutralZone has him as a 3.75*.

From October's AJHL Showcase article on their size...
Zach is a leader for his team, and he leads by example. His strong stride, and hard-nosed play can be tough to deal with. When he has the puck, he can be tough to knock off of it. He always seems to be on his toes and moving in positive ways to be a positive impact. His offensive instincts and skills are lacking, but his effort is not. Grade: B
Listed at 6', 179 pounds. In 35 games this year, he had a 18-16-34 in the regular season between Sherwood Park and Lloydminster. He had a 3-3-6 in 8 playoff games this year.

Zach will turn 21 in September. A little surprise about the comment about his offensive skills as he's been averaging a point per game over the past couple of seasons.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

I'm still hoping we'll see another recruit for next season. I would imagine there's still scholarship money available with Lohin and Goransson leaving early. Not sure if Kaiser is a walk on?

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

I'm hearing rumors of another player also leaving early, but for now, it's just that. So then going by Bazin's comments in the Sun article posted last week, I'd expect to see about 8-9 incoming freshmen (his at least 5 comment, plus the three open spots). Currently your stats file shows 11, so it's tough to tell if there's someone else coming in on top of that?

The only thing that makes me wonder is Bazin out recruiting, since that's normally the assistants. So I'm curious if they've got someone in mind and he's a big enough talent that they need the Coach to close the deal?

I'm also guessing on when some of the incoming players will actually come in. At the moment only Kaiser and Chambers will have to come in due to their age.

Hopefully the rumors are not about a player that played a significant role this past season.

Also heard rumor of another player leaving, a D. Chambers, Brown and Lee have signed NLIs which are 1 year so they will be in. New commit has to come in due to age. The rest could all do another year or two.

Jordan Schulting has signed an NLI too. I figured he would come in anyways since they've lost a couple D, and as you're hearing, possibly a 3rd.
