How was the call? Anything regarding recruiting?
I don't think this affects recruiting all that much, just based on how Bazin recruits. Considering how many players we're losing this year and next, we have enough commits already. The class we need to start paying attention to is the '22 freshmen class as we have 12 kids graduating after the 21/22 season and so far no commits. And while I know that's 2 seasons away ... Lowell's the only program that doesn't have a '22 commit (Owen Fowler is '21 or '22). Every other Hockey East program outside of UConn has at least 3.I didn't realize there was a STH call until it was too late. I've been wondering about recruiting as well. Kids will likely commit to the top tier schools sight unseen, but for Lowell, it's probably hard to get a commitment without having them visit.
The OOC schedule sounds good so far. A lot can happen between now and then, but I'm wondering if we'll watch be able to see these games in person.
I thought the call was good for the portions that I heard. Unfortunately I had a couple of interruptions so I didn't hear everything that was said. There should be a recording available soon. I believe the call lasted about 30-40 minutes and would have lasted longer if there were more questions. I think they said there would be another call next week.
Oh, Norm said the practice rink is a go and they're ready to start the bid process.
I had to cut out early, did they mention where the practice rink is being built on campus?
I don't believe Norm mentioned location. I always thought the plan was to build it behind/connected to the Tsongas. I'm not sure if that is accurate.
Here's the replay of the STH call.

Norm mentioned 5 recruits (3F, 2D, 1G) coming in with a possibility of one or two more. Sterrett, Armstrong and Allen were mentioned.
Thanks for this Bob.Here's the replay of the STH call.

Quick recap from my side:
Non-Conf Schedule: McGill (Exhibition), Road trip to Alabama, Duluth at home, Turkey Leg (Bemidji and Miami), at Mariucci Classic tournament, at Arizona State for 2.
Bazin is keeping an eye on possible transfers.
6 recruits coming in (Bob, you have the positions right, just had a type on the number).
Practice rink is waiting for bids to develop it. The virus is causing a delay, obviously.
Interesting comment from Coach that he hopes one day that there's a gag order put in for coaches at all levels. No talking to the refs at all.
Like seeing teams take trips to Alabama. Good for college hockey.
Our recruiting has been good overall. It can get better. See NU and UMass' classes the last couple of years, and current commitments for proof of that. Are you happy with recruiting at your school
The only thing going to Huntsville is the flights getting there. I used to travel for work down to Huntsville and
the connections going and coming from there can be tough. Most flights from Boston go through either Charlotte or DC which
are very busy and congested airports and the flights are delayed quite often. I wonder if there is a season, will there
be any fans to the games.
Funny, I never have problems with DC.![]()
The next call will be Friday at Noon with Associate Head Coach Andy Jones.
