Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

what is the song they come onto the ice to in the first period?--Thank you!!

Some guy had a Notre Dame flag he waved at the start of the game. Wonder where he put it the rest of the game

Helly is the bomb. That is all.

Posting in the right thread now

That was fun. Bucco's goal was beautiful. Can't wait for tomorrow when the Tsongas will be packed.

Hopefully everyone is ready to go tomorrow, it was a pretty physical game. Pendenza really got rocked by Johns early in the game. I was surprised he didn't miss a shift. Wilson looked to be hurting after taking a hit at the end of game near the bench. He went right to the locker room.

Or where someone put it for him? :D

Tonight's shutout gives Connor 2 for the season and a career total of 8 in only a season and 1/3, tying him with Cam McCormick for second all time to Carter Hutton's 10. What's the over/under on Connor owning Lowell's career shutout record by the end of his sophomore year?
I think it's totally feasible, certainly. We showed why last night.

Don't know how much more packed it can get than tonight. But I bet a few more could be squeezed in and not violate fire regulations.
Yeah, we were pretty packed. Attendance was just slightly over seated capacity and there were still empty seats to be had and based on what MaryK heard, yes, it'll likely be moreso today.

Definitely need Wilson healthy but he does frustrate me sometimes by trying to do too much and then losing possession after failing to stick-handle through 3 or 4 defenders alone.

Definitely looking forward to the second game of the weekend. My nerves and tummy would be much much happier with a larger lead, though.

Any news on the health/status of Wilson?
I saw the replay, he took a big hit to head/face. It looked like his own teamate hit him. Hopefully he can play today.

Who gets the start in net? Does Norm stay with the rotation?

Great game tonight. Two shutouts in a row for Connor now!

Leswp1 asked in the recruit thread what song is played when the Riverhawks come out before the first period. I believe it's this song by Fall Out Boy

Wrong one. :( This starts the montage. The one I am looking for is before they drop the puck. I asked the question wrong

Wow! 2 awesome playoff intensity games and 2 wins in front of packed houses! Definitely the best games UML has played at Tsongas this year from where I sit.

Hooah!!!!! That was a Physical test if I've ever seen one! Johns from nd reminds me of the goin from mc last year

You meant goon and Bigos I bet. Yep, huge dumb foul-tempered SOB. Deserved a penalty early in the first. After a nice clean UML rush, he two hand shoved his own goalie then acted like we had done it and grabbed a uml forwards face cage.

For anyone who didn't see the NESN broadcast:

The bench minor was on ND coach Jackson. In the first intermission he said that was on him, that he wanted to talk to the ref and that he wouldn't come over - so he started yelling louder. Not sure what the content of his message was, but with everything the officials hear I hope it was something egregious enough to warrant a bench minor.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

What a great weekend of hockey. I really can't say anything about Connor that hasn't been said already. What an amazing pickup this young man has been for the Hawks. Buco's goal on Friday night was one for the highlight reel. Even though it was in the far goal (from me), I could see him break his wrist to top shelf that from such a close angle. Beautiful. Couple of blasts last night from the defensemen, which was great to see as well.

Just shy of 13,000 fans in two nights, that has to be a record for Lowell. And while we didn't really get to see how many UND fans were there Friday night since they never had a chance to make any noise Friday, I was definitely surprised by the small number I saw cheering their only goal of the weekend on Saturday. I really had expected about 20% of the fans to be rooting for Notre Dame (and most that I expected wouldn't have been able to point out where the school is on a map)... but it wasn't so. Well done, Lowell fans.

And BTW, if anyone in the Hawks athletic department is reading this, our website currently says "UMass Lowell 1 vs Nortre Dame 0." Might want to fix that, please, it's rather embarrassing.
