UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

I still don't understand why they haven't postponed the games until Sunday yet. The steady rain will likely be into Boston near or shortly after noontime. The odds that the BU/Maine game can be played are about as close to zero as possible. The odds they'll be able to get a complete game in for Lowell/Northeastern are significantly less than 50/50. My only thought is that they're going to do what the Sox have done (and been roasted for) in the past: Open the gates, sell concessions for 1-2 hours, then postpone the game due to rain. If that is what they end up doing, it's simple the Red Sox trying to make some quick money while Hockey East gets the blame for not postponing earlier.

To that end, I'm supposed to be hosting a game watch in Arlington VA at Noon (World of Beer). Can somebody text me if they postpone?

Scott, if it comes down to a safety issue I would hope you wouldn't hesitate to say so to those in charge (Bazin, Skinner, Meehan, etc.)

Trust me, I have already relayed my professional opinion to certain people who have influence on the decision-making.

Loving my couch even more!!

Well you're not going to be seeing the game from that couch until hours after the result is in the books

Lowell/Northeastern to be shown on tape delay at 5:30pm.

I wish I could say this was shocking, but it's not.

Why show a special live event at Fenway park between a two teams that have been very good the past couple weeks when instead you can air a middle of the season ho-hum basketball game between two mediocre to suckbag teams between BC and who cares?

Easy call there. Let's put the Lowell/Northeastern game on tape delay and air it when everyone is either tailgating at the Pats game, or out to dinner, or getting ready to host a Pat's game party.

On this issue at least, I think the NU and UML fan bases see things the same way.

Yeah, I have to cancel an alumni event because of tape delay... This doesn't override the acc game of the week? Or it something else altogether?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

After opening the gates and selling concessions for an hour or more, they will realize that the steady rain that has been falling a few hours isn't going to let up and they will reluctantly postpone the games until Sunday. Don't worry though, there's a women's basketball doubleheader on NESN Sunday afternoon. North Carolina/Florida State and BC/Duke women's hoops will be shown live while Lowell/Northeastern gets bumped to tape delay at 5pm, when everyone else will be watching the Denver/San Diego football game.

I wrote this as a joke, but sadly, I don't think it'll be far from the truth.

Hockey East wants to postpone til Sunday. FSM does not.

If Sunday we get the late game- 6PM. This is really, really stupid. Mr les is going to languish in Boston for a whole wasted weekend with HE dicking around and not making a decision that should have been made days ago. There are times I wonder why did I not marry a banker?

Why don't they just put the game on live on the NESN Plus channel? They do that when they have conflicts with the Bruins and Red Sox broadcasts.

Typical...last week they did similar things to PC/Merrimack like not having enough merchandise for fans, didn't use the huge flag over the monster like they did for BC/UND. Seems to me that BC and BU are the only teams that Frozen Fenway cares about!

Welcome to the most screwed up day ever... oh joy oh joy

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

Very disappointing results. Congratulation to NU on winning the season series. Too many mistakes by the Hawks in that second period and the Huskies made them pay. Special teams hurt the Hawks today. Lot's of shots (48) but they can't put it into the net, was Witt that good?

Lost opportunity to take advantage of a game at hand. Next weekend is huge.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

Hahahaha!! rain delay, second game. ScottK they should have listened to you. They are now on TV waffling about what the heck will happen next as they show rain coming down in buckets.
