UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Onward, UML, onward! But you'd better bring the A game tomorrow. BC is in the groove. Hoping its the Riverhawks in Philly.

One game is a groove?!? :p

I don't think Denver could beat merrymack :)
That was just what jrrrry needed for his boys.
Now go smack them in the mouth and wake the igles up from their happy place dream!! Back to reality.

:D

I think Minnesota State got a lot out of the Yale tape from last year. They effectively took away the cross ice breakout pass, and Lowell was unable to adjust the whole game. MSU was willing to commit their defensemen to play up past the blue line to keep the puck in

Go 'Hawks!

100% agree. They reminded me of Yale last year. Solid post

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

MSM used the same technique that Union and Yale have used to take us out of our game the last couple of years, and we didn't adjust. Just can't play like that today. Please.

If anyone is looking for tickets, I'd suggest trying the Lowell bar and asking around. I heard of a couple of extras floating around yesterday.

BTW, that bar is freakin' cool.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Well that could have gone better.

We got next year though, but in the meantime the next question I think is: When does Folin leave to the NHL and to what team?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

:( heart breaker but not the blowout predicted by some. BC certainly didn't look invincible. FF should be interesting

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Congratulations on a great season, Lowell Riverhawks and fans. I was hoping this would be THE year for you. Keep your heads high -- you played well last weekend and this one. I admire how you gave BC no quarter in this game, conceding nothing and making them earn everything. This was a hard-fought loss for you. Best of luck in the offseason, and to your graduating seniors as well as to those players who depart early for the next stage, wherever that may be.

See you next season.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Well, that totally stunk. It was a hard-fought game between two great teams that really should have met in Philly, not in Worcester. Props to BC on a great year.

All of us are exceedingly proud of the senior class who endured the 5-win season in their first year and then went on to have three 20+ win seasons, three trips to the NCAAs and the program's first visit to the Frozen. Yes, it would have been nice to repeat that feat this year, but hold your heads high, you've put the program on the national stage and set the bar for the future classes. Congrats to all and thank you all the seniors and those who are moving on.

Dear Connor: Please come back.

Dear Gaudreau: Please sign with someone, God speed, but just go. :D

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

What a game, think Jerry put it best (not surprising):

“I have to tell you how impressed I was with the River Hawks. They battled and competed so hard and pushed us to the very zenith of our effort. Sometimes you get big wins, and they all feel good, but when you get big wins against a really quality, high-class program like Norm [Bazin] runs at UMass-Lowelll, I’m even more proud of it because of how hard we had to work"

Looking forward to playing you guys next year

As for Johnny, who wants to go to Calgary ;)

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Heckuva game, heckuva season guys. That was a white knuckle, nerve-bending game. I agree with those of you who say this should have been in Philly. You guys deserved better. Mad respect and tip of the cap on a great great year.

Well that could have gone better.

Minnesota is going after him from what I heard from a scout tonight. Hope he returns next season.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

have to say, you guys looked like a much better offensive team than i remember. on the flip side, i think bc was able to expose a couple things on the other end. great hockey game. i said before the game that this was worthy of more than a QF and it certainly turned out that way. lowell is better than any team i saw in the midwest regional.

your school was well represented in worcester. this was a fantastic showcase for hockey east.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

That was one hell of a game tonight. Despite UML losing, I really enjoyed it. It's disappointing the season is over but I feel better about having it end after a game like that compared to last year when they lost to Yale. Even though Yale won the NC, IMO that loss felt like more of letdown because UML didn't seem to play their best hockey.

It would have been nice if tonight's matchup was in the FF however if Lowell had won maybe one or two more games this year, or hadn't dropped that game to Sacred Heart, maybe they would have beaten out Wisconsin for that final 1 seed and played elsewhere? Lowell left it up to the committee to decide, and it is what it is.

I hope coach Bazin stays for a long time and continues to bring in the right kids to Lowell to keep the team this competitive. I'd especially love to see more games like we saw tonight against BC for the foreseeable future. It's good for us Lowell fans, and it's good for Hockey East.

I hope Doug Carr gets a chance to play pro hockey...he was outstanding two years ago and deserves a chance.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Congratulations to the team on a great season and a heck of a game tonight. Thanks to the seniors class for all the hard work and all they've accomplished in their four years at Lowell.

I took a look at a replay of the game when i got home. Some tough luck for Lowell on the game winner that I didn't notice at the game. Jake Suter had lost his stick behind the net and was in the process of taking Evan Campbell's stick as Doherty skated towards the net. Basically both players were without sticks when Doherty made the pass to McCoshen for the game winner.
