UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

So now the word "elite" is a slight also? There's 59 teams, elite would at least mean top 10 maybe top 5.
Personally, I'm just glad you were able to get Onion Man to come on here and not tell us how Lowell was a one-year wonder and would lose their next game to [insert school here] because they're really not that good.

Lowell is a one-year wonder and will lose their next game to [Vermont] because they're really not that good.

Teehee. Are there some sort of pheromones on the intertubes that attract all the nuts to one place?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Best reception I get from that station is up in Salem, NH or on I-93. Anywhere else is a big nope.
I don't know why I didn't see it.....It is UML version of a blackout except now we have great attendance it isn't necessary anymore. The closer you are the worse it gets.

Where in Salem were you? I was on 38 and couldn't get it except for it sounding like a shell being waved in front of a speaker. I got it for about 5 seconds coming out of the Zakin Bridge tunnel then couldn't get it until I was almost to Methuen. Hit Dracut and pooof! It was kind of a tease.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

It does, but is their defense as talented as BC's? You're freaking out over the word "overrated". It's not the exact word I should've used, I really just meant you cannot just post stats and claim that to be the end all be all, that was my point. My point wasn't that Demko isn't an elite goaltender, he is , which is why I said he's "very very good".

A goaile on a talent filled top ranked team is always going to be second quessed because scouts and fans etc wonder how much of his stats are a product of
the talent around him. A goalie with great stats on a talent weak team never is guestioned. No one doubted Thiessen or Quick etc as they didnt have a dozen NHL
draft picks in front of them.

You guys are talking about our goalie debate? This reception topic has been going on all year long hahah!

And even that's not an exact science as it's not like Thiessen has gone on to great things.

Cripes....if we're in Worc, I might just drive down.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Wish we had the Cincinnati prices in Worcester.

I work up near the Rockingham Mall Plaza so it was in that general area. 28 or 38, i forget which one its on. It was a bit choppy until I was on 93, but still audible (while at max volume) once I got off the highway it dropped pretty quickly.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

I know we have talked about this before, but I heard some scuttlebutt at the Sr. Night Banquet that Christian Folin may leave after this season. That can be scary. Not many D would be left for next season. I know it has been stated before that Folin wants to stay for all four years, but of course no one can keep him here...

Comments about Christian Folin in the attached Hockey Buzz article.

I spoke recently with an NHL scout about the top undrafted collegiate players in NCAA hockey. He was of the opinion that the best unrestricted free agent rookie candidate this season is 23-year-old UMass-Lowell defenseman Christian Folin. A product of the famed Frölunda system in Sweden before coming to North America, the 6-foot-3 blueliner is a good collegiate two-way defenseman with both size (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) and puck-moving ability.
