UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Been looking at the standings and if Lowell wins 1 against BC we clinch a home playoff series. One point against BC and one against VT also clinches a home series.

Send me a message on yahoo if you still need a ticket for Friday. My address there is zambonirodeo.

Not only is Saturday's game sold out, WinterFest is going on. Some roads will likely be closed and parking will be a CF. Doors are opening at Tsongas at 5:30 instead of 6 to accommodate the larger crowd.
I'm excited for this series and I'm all the way out here in CO springs lol
Enjoy what winterfest has to offer ... Then go into the game.... Or just meet Monty at beerworks ... And enjoy the warmth of his company(if that's at all possible)

Did anyone attend the Chalk Talk with Coach Bazin this morning? How was it?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

45 students on the bus tomorrow. Considering it was 6 Tuesday morning pretty solid number

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Really looking forward to this series. It will be good to see how well the Riverhawks can rise to the challenge against the #1 team. My wife bought tickets in December as a birthday gift for me for Saturday night's game. She is a BC Alum and I am a ULowell alum from the 80s. We are bringing two of our daughters who are having a tough time figuring out which jersey they will wear. If either of them want a ride to/from the game, they better be wearing their Lowell colors!

Well that was fun. Let's hope for a different result tomorrow night.

At least we can thank Maine and Northeastern for tying tonight, thus allowing UML to remain alone in second place.

They need to find a way to generate more offense on Saturday night. Demko was leaving rebounds tonight but the Hawks didn't take advantage.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Didn't seem to be much urgency tonight. Seemed like we played not to make mistakes instead to make something happen The 5 minute major was embarrassing. Chapie made a bonehead play to set up BC's first goal. We had some real nice chances but it also seemed like we hit Demko square in the gut 20 times and like bblav said we didn't have a body in front when he gave up rebounds.

Bob Ellis said the same thing. He didn't think that Lowell erally played all that well, but he was impressed they were still able to stay in the game playing that way.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

I couldn't tell how that first one got in. It looked like Conner was in good position.
Goalie was in good position. Gaudreau fired at a little hole between shoulder and post. Almost like Johnny curved it in there because he was behind the goal line and puck was on the goal line when he shot. He hit the far post and puck deflected in.

Most folks see this play and pass it off as a fluke goal. Anyone that sees Johnny play every night knows this is not so. Frickin' incredible what this kid can do with the puck... he brought me out of my seat yet again, with the typical, 'Holy chit! Did you see that?' :)

Might have bounced off Connors side, wasn't a good angle to shoot. Sad thing was that Chapie had skated the puck into BC's zone and probably could have skated around the bc net or taken a shot or at least dumped it further in but instead stopped cold and tried to pass it backwards. Got intercepted just outside of our blue line and set up a 2 man rush which Gaudreau took all the way. More random observations: Lowel got beat bad in toughness, hits and working the boards. Colantone, McGrath, Pendenza and Campbell played gritty but our defense especially looked tentative and slow. Lot's of coasting around. Gaudreau is sneaky, always seems to be open and was really disruptive when Lowell had the puck. Couldn't believe how slight he is, wish we could get a big hit on him. Mcgrath could level him I bet. Was surprised to find the BC crowd to be a little weak. % of people really paying attention seemed low. I expect Tsongas to be much more rockin tonight, especially if the team shows some heart.

student turnout wasn't great last night for bc.

that's the thing with gaudreau, very hard to line up for a big hit. he'll make you look foolish.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

and playing lowell doesn't exactly lead to exciting hockey either ;)
