UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

He outsourced that to Patronick ;)
Fans complain about calls. Right or wrong, it happens (UVM fans complained about the call Friday night). The call last night was horrendous, but it's done, Lowell had time to recover from it, and did tie the game.

I just appreciate that Lowell's coaching staff didn't take up on that line of complaining.

As you follow the UVM thread we are no fans of Sneddon...so not going to disagree.. I just like Patronick's posting on crying about the game...then proceeding to cry about the game..

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

I blame you for this BTW, you wanted a third game. ;)

Interesting to note that while Sneedon *****ed and moaned Friday night to the media, I haven't noticed anything by Bazin about his team's getting an even more controversial call against them.

What did Sneddon say to the media? I haven't read anything ... Jackson was upset with the officiating at the BC game but that's the only complaining i've seen to the media

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

If Vermont had stolen the game, fine. Benedetto stole the game. Any other rationalization of that call and the goal that resulted is just flat out wrong.
BC/ND, 4:30 today on NESN.
What's up with that? Lowell gets no respect.

Its BC and ND, the two schools with the most prominent fan base in the area. That game would have a lot better ratings than UML/UVM.

Though it would be nice if it was on so I could watch it while at the family dinner today.

Must be family bias, he didn't want his nephews college career to end just yet ;)

The two teams with the most bandwagon fans. Why would this be a surprise?

most bandwagon or most 'I like them cause they're big and Catholic/Jesuit' ?

The name recognition alone would triple the ratings of our game. It sux but it's the right business decision.

True. Their marketing machine is huge and brilliant. WalMart has BC stuff here but no UML. People will wear BC stuff and not even know what they are rooting for

Hi Riverhawk nation, This has nothing to do with the game but it is something I been meaning to post for a few weeks now. I need to get this off of my chest and let Riverhawk nation hear how the AD's office treated a 35 year season ticket holder. As I have stated I have been a season ticket holder for 35 years. Dad and I have been coming to the games long before any of the current AD staff including Dana. When the Talon club and Pavilion was built Dad and I would go to the talon club for a drink and dinner. After we would walk to the elevator and held up to our seats. Both dad and I have trouble climbing stairs. We were allowed to cut through the pavilion to get to our seats. When the talon club was closed for private parties we were told we could go to the pavilion. Dad and I went their for a few years, no problems. Sadly dad passed away before this season started. I would come to the games with family and friends and go into the pavilion. The game against Providence my husband came with me. As we were heading into the pavilion they stop my husband from going in. I explained that he was with me and that we were season ticket holders. I complained to management and to the AD staff and nothing but BS about how you have to pay extra to go in and sit down and have a drink and something to eat. All they care about is the money and not the people who supported the team through thick and thin. How many of the people who go in their were there when we only won 5 games the whole season. Is this fair to treat a 35 year season ticket holder. I don't think so. Season ticket holders should have some place to go to have some food and a drink. Thanks for listening Riverhawk Nation. I still love my Riverhawks. GO RIVERHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad but true. Many of the big pocket people have no allegiance to the team other than being seen/having people know they can afford the perks. I mourn for the days when we had the real Friends group who supported the team, planned trips and hung with each other because they loved the game and the team. Now it isn't about that but about the $$. $$ may make things go on some level but it really isn't a way to grow a loyal fan base of regular people. There really isn't an avenue for regular fans to do anything unless it is tournament time.

Edit- Not that there aren't 'things' to do, there are but there isn't really an avenue to hang out. At one point they had tiers to that sort of thing. I have been around for yrs and I can't afford to fork over that kind of cash

I'm sorry to hear about this and the passing of your dad. Have you tried escalating this to Vice Chancellor Jackie Moloney or Chancellor Meehan? The school's pressing the alumni harder and harder for donations; treating them and the loyal fan base poorly isn't a positive reflection on their administration or going to help their fundraising efforts.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

I hope we ran out of energy the last 30 minutes... i know they were working but the first 30 looked great... either way, to the garden!

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

Jim and Bob seemed like they knew they were out of energy once the 3rd was kind of underway... hopefully we can recharge and look forward to friday against ND

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

GREAT GAME!!!!!!!! On to the Garden and ND. Anyone know if UML is the late or early game??

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

I didn't think they looked out of energy so much as UVM was good and desperate. They had an icky patch but then pulled themselves together. Arny and Calontone (sp and I know it) had an amazing game!

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season, II ... May I have another?

For our resident historians...is this the first time all the beanpot teams have been shut out of the semi-finals?
