UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

BTW, I want to add one more thing ... I'm not one to gloat generally. I'd much rather enjoy a win with my friends than have to come up with comments against people that are clueless. But (and I'm posting this here, not on their thread), I wonder tonight what Huskies01 thinks about how NU is so much better than UML. :D

Especially since NU has been eliminated from the playoffs....

All scenarios are here http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/men/pres1112/201202/playoffpicture030212.pdf

Blech ... who really cares about UMass. ;)
We do. Check out Todd's post: http://board.uscho.com/showthread.p...1-12-edition&p=5379197&viewfull=1#post5379197

Both UMA and NU are in danger of dropping off the TUC bubble, which could plunge the PWR's of a number of HEA teams, including ours. UMA is safe through tonight but if they lose the QF series, they're probably out but if they win tonight, it might help them. NU is in a similar position, but that drop could happen tonight; we REALLY want NU to win, and not just cause it'd give us the #2 seed.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

If UNH loses at Maine this afternoon and PC can get a win at your place it will be PC at UML next weekend. As a Friar fan it would be the best case scenario for us. No offense to UML, you have had a great season. Congradulations to Norm Bazin and the boys for this incredible turnaround from last year to this. But given the choice of going to one of the Boston schools or going to UML, the trip to UML sounds a lot better.
Something about the game that I really liked ... this was a team effort all the way from the first puck drop. Seniors tonight had a 2-1-3, juniors added a 2-0-2, sophomores had a 2-3-5 (and obviously Carr with 23 saves on 24 shots), and the frosh had a 0-4-4.

Have to figure this win pretty much puts this team into the NCAAs now.

I love knowing that the next four games (if needed) will be at the friendly confines of the Tsongas. The students have been showing up in great numbers ... starting tomorrow as a thank you to the seniors, those numbers need to increase more.

If the series (as it seems like it will be) is against UNH, we know they'll be coming down in large numbers. Our fans need to show up. I'm actually pretty confident about crowds on Thursday and Friday night, but if they go to a Game 3 on a Sunday, when most of the campus is back home ... that thought worries me a bit.

The fact that I was able to write the above three paragraphs ... makes me smile. :)

It's simple for Lowell at this point, but unfortunately not in their hands, which is why I'm going to be a (blech) NU fan tomorrow, even if they have nothing to play for. If NU plays for their seniors tomorrow and upsets BU, and Lowell wins over PC ... the match up goes from UNH @ Lowell to PC @ Lowell. Nothing against the Friars or their fans, but that would be better all around.

Just curious. Are you referring to location/arena or the on-ice matchup?

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

going by playoff status.com we have not clinched the NCAAs as of yet... if we lose out they give a 27% of making it in... i figure they're approximately correct but probably don't use a model I would use.

Win tonight.

Win tonight.

It also says we have a 27% chance of making it to the Frozen Four.

Stop looking at the negatives. ;)

All I'm saying is don't rest ;) Nothing drives me nuts than thinking "we're already there" and we let off the gas.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Your correct, that was my point. The 2 home and home series against the Boston schools ended 14-1 and 10-0 respectively. OUCH!
I was kidding! :)
After how badly PC got embarrassed by BC and BU, I could see why anything else would be a preference.

Now now, its only 5-1 right now... I feel we could have a 7 spot in us.

---

If we have to play UNH I want the university to refuse orders from 603 area codes.
