Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Not to me, it takes awhile to get that kind of stuff in the pipeline. More to the point, Thursday-Friday-Sunday??? I don't like it when my kickball schedule is interfered with (thursday game)... especially when that is also in playoff mode.

I agree with you about getting them out there early but the fact that there isn't a disclaimer or something stating that there is a chance there will not be games at Tsongas next week is the strange part to me. Hope to see a big Lowell crowd tonight down at PC. Lets wrap up home ice tonight!

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Well I was desperately hoping to see some life after a disappointing weekend against Merrimack, and so far, so good. 3-0 after 1 for Lowell, Budd (6), Arnold (16, PP) and Homlstrom (10), with Pendanza and Kamrass each having two assists.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

New goalie, same results. Wetmore makes it 4-0, his 11th, from Wilson (18) and Eiserman (4) at 1:09.

Keeping a close eye on other scores around the league, especially BU, which is down 1-0 to NU after 1.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

5-1 UML, shots were 37-24. What a response by the boys.

NU has nothing to play for tonight if UMass wins their game (they're up 2-1) as the Huskies are getting killed, so that won't help us. If Lowell ties BU, we do get the 2 seed, but that would require winning tomorrow and hoping NU somehow pulls off the upset.

HOME ICE! :D

Hopefully seniors attempt to go out with some pride on their home ice.

Currently tied for 5th in the pairwise. A win tomorrow would be lovely.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

The last time we had home ice I was still attending Lowell....

hmm... didn't realize you were still in at that point... sophomore myself.

Would love to say I'll be going but I won't.... let's win the next one then we can figure out which regional we're in... mmm... gov't rate hotels...

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Something about the game that I really liked ... this was a team effort all the way from the first puck drop. Seniors tonight had a 2-1-3, juniors added a 2-0-2, sophomores had a 2-3-5 (and obviously Carr with 23 saves on 24 shots), and the frosh had a 0-4-4.

Have to figure this win pretty much puts this team into the NCAAs now.

I love knowing that the next four games (if needed) will be at the friendly confines of the Tsongas. The students have been showing up in great numbers ... starting tomorrow as a thank you to the seniors, those numbers need to increase more.

If the series (as it seems like it will be) is against UNH, we know they'll be coming down in large numbers. Our fans need to show up. I'm actually pretty confident about crowds on Thursday and Friday night, but if they go to a Game 3 on a Sunday, when most of the campus is back home ... that thought worries me a bit.

The fact that I was able to write the above three paragraphs ... makes me smile. :)

It's simple for Lowell at this point, but unfortunately not in their hands, which is why I'm going to be a (blech) NU fan tomorrow, even if they have nothing to play for. If NU plays for their seniors tomorrow and upsets BU, and Lowell wins over PC ... the match up goes from UNH @ Lowell to PC @ Lowell. Nothing against the Friars or their fans, but that would be better all around.

You forgot one scenario. If Lowell wins, NU upsets BU, and UMass beats Merrimack again, then Lowell hosts UMass instead.

BTW, I want to add one more thing ... I'm not one to gloat generally. I'd much rather enjoy a win with my friends than have to come up with comments against people that are clueless. But (and I'm posting this here, not on their thread), I wonder tonight what Huskies01 thinks about how NU is so much better than UML. :D

And if you go to the Hawks site now ... you'll see this beaut...
