As I told Bob on Saturday night prior to the game, this feels like a movie. One year ago from this upcoming weekend, we were mathematically eliminated from the HE playoffs. Now we are batting for the right to own first place in our barn for another day and move a gigantic step closer to home ice by winning the tiebreaker against BU. I wonder what would have been the odds for that?
A weekend split all around would leave Lowell in first place for yet another week. Not implying I want a split of course...
Like I said, that number is going to move and with the way Lowell has played this season there's no reason to doubt these guys. It's extremely important that they at least split with BU and MC, as owning the tiebreaker against 3 of the other 4 teams looking for home ice will almost certainly come into play when it's all said and done.
Well deserved.Doug Carr on the Walter Brown Award Semi-Finalist list.
According to the Hockey East: Who's in/out/home thread (amazing job by Todd), the current bar for home playoff lock is 36.
This weekend will be huge. BU will (should) be angry at losing in OT and also looking to avenge their earlier season drubbing.
I'm not reading into much on the Beanpot result, if BU won, they would be on a high from winning the championship. The key to this comment is the earlier season beatdown Lowell placed on BU, which was mentioned in the NESN promo they played several times. Needless to say, I think both teams will be ready.
If anyone did watch the Beanpot last night, did you hear TC's man-crush he had on Lowell at the end of the first period and beginning of the second..LOL! Love the fact that the River Hawks were able to "crash" the Beanpot for some exposure.![]()
Since BU is bringing a couple of bus-loads of fans, and are expecting at least 125 ... the Lowell fans NEED to be out in support of this team tomorrow. Not just the students and alumni, but the hockey fans in the city...It's been quiet in here. Everyone must be quietly pacing, chewing fingernails, and doing that leg shake thing everyone hates.
I'll be the first to say that tomorrow will feel like one of the longest work days of the year. Big game tomorrow. I'm expecting the Lowell crowd and students show up in force.
Yep, that sounds about right. It's been quiet in here. Everyone must be quietly pacing, chewing fingernails, and doing that leg shake thing everyone hates.
Hope so...last couple weeks, seems to have been hit or miss. Hoping that with one game, and not two, everyone makes a commitment to get there to be loud and proud.I'll be the first to say that tomorrow will feel like one of the longest work days of the year. Big game tomorrow. I'm expecting the Lowell crowd and students show up in force.
