Only from men's hockey fans who aren't remotely interested in the women's program anyway and who don't have a problem with foreign players on men's hockey teams.

That's not true with regards to the Girls High School Hockey forum I referred to. That's where I've read the bulk of complaints and they come from fans of the high school girls and women's college hockey. The complaints have to be taken with a grain of salt as many originate with parents or friends of players who are just upset their daughter or friend wasn't recruited by Minnesota college hockey program X, Y or Z.

There are some exceptions when the complaints come from fans in general who have no personal connection. Again, anyone who thinks it's realistic for Minnesota based D-I programs to have rosters exclusively comprised of Minnesotans doesn't really appreciate the level of competition out there and how it just wouldn't be possible if you want to be on a competitive level with the best.

Shara is a great scoring forward that also has a very good slap shot. She led her co select team in scoring and is also not afraid to play physical.

And no, I'm not her dad.

Yes. They clearly just got the new girls up with numbers and haven't updated anything else.

Harss is a senior, really. Not sure if they will list her and Posa as such.

They got most of the years wrong, but at least we have all the names. I'd volunteer to be the "website guy" if I was staying in Duluth, but alas, I'm not. They'll have to make their money from me via pay-per-view instead of season tickets. I hope most of the home games are online this season. The schedule isn't out yet for B2TV or whatever they're calling themselves these days.

The defense will be another work in progress this year I think.. Jaakkola didn't get an abundance of ice time last year and Emma Stauber and Brigette Lacquette are freshmen. Wong and Posa are the only really experienced defensemen, and this is the first time Wong's been actually LISTED as a D on the team roster.

Speaking of Posa, she's listed as a senior on the UMDBulldogs.com roster this year after her sophomore season last year

After 1 exhibition game, I still expect the defense will be a work in progress but the freshmen back there may be better than I expected. At least in one game against 13 Whitecaps players it seems we have freshmen defensemen who can skate. The defense may have to be the key right away if they don't have any scoring punch.. Wong may end up playing a lot of games like hers' tonight.. half the game on D have on a wing and double shifting one to the other.

Let's just hope Wong can keep skating. She's dealing with an injury (muscle tear) and has not been on the ice very much.

Tomorrow will be a test for her then.. she spent a lot of time on the ice playing forward AND defense tonight.
