UMass Lowell Offseason Thread '13: In Norm We Trust

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason Thread '13: In Norm We Trust

The schedule will be officially released tomorrow.

Some tidbits about the schedule (not my calculations, but someone sent them to me):

Non conference opponents had a .450 winning percentage… that’s counting Quinnipiac twice, UMass once, Clarkson three times… etc… Only Quinnipiac had a winning record… Our Hockey East opponents had a winning percentage of .501… Full Schedule opponent winning percentage…? .481…

The michigoons had a bad year... Penn State's on there... etc. I think there are a few teams on there that must be expected to do better next season.

Still in my slight depression about the Bruins ... but then I just saw a picture of Carter Hutton holding up the Stanley Cup, with a huge smile on his face. That helped, a bit.

Wait, what? Was he on the roster? if so, is that our first cup since MacTavish?

I don't believe he was on the roster, so it's not like his name will get on the Cup., I don't think.

Yeah, looked up the roster...

I'm still trying to see which games i may try to get to... Hamden appears doable but it'd require somebody picking me up and taking me back to new haven... Unless I want to chance a new haven bus?!?! (Stabby stabby stabby)

Is anyone going to the BBQ / Spinners game tonight? The weather doesn't look to promising.

I will miss the BBQ but hope to make the game. My flight is supposed to come in to Logan at 5:30.

Hi all, I'm new to the board and a new season ticket holder. I went to the BBQ today and I thought it was a great event. Coach Bazin spoke and said the Big Ten teams on the schedule this year will all be visiting the Tsongas center next season.

Welcome Middle Street. That's good to hear about the Big10 teams. Hopefully they will continue to be on the schedule in future years. I had planned to make the BBQ but something came up at the last minute. How was the turn out?

IIRC, doesn't Denver and CC also return next season? Could be one hell of a home schedule.

How was the turn out?

Thanks Boblav, the turnout was pretty good considering bad weather was forecasted and it was the Friday before a typical vacation week. With all of the tables they setup behind the arena, I'd say there was roughly 3/4 of them full with people. The sun came out and it ended up being clear. Coach Bazin threw out the first pitch at the Spinners game, and it wasn't the best throw I've seen ;)

I don't recall any mention of CC or Denver during his speech, but I wouldn't doubt it. That would be great NC schedule if they visit too.

As far as I understand they will return the dates. Just a matter of which year
