UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

I watched the game on ESPN+ last night. The MC announcers mentioned that the Warriors have three 30-point scorers. All three are underclassmen (2 Fr, 1 So.). I took a look at the MC stats, they currently have six players with at least 20 points (4 So., 2 Fr.). The future appears to be bright for the Warriors.

One of those “freshman” is 23 and last year played in the AHL. He’d be pushing 26 if he stays 4 years. He’s probably gone in 2 weeks.

Nice comeback tonight. With the way we've been at home, plus the way BU's been playing lately, I had low expectations, especially after going down early. We pass UNH in the standings, so we'll play MC for the fourth time this season, at Lawler on Wednesday.

Entertaining game to be at. Chippy at times. Glad to see the Seniors get to leave with a W, as they have to be absolutely disappointed that over their four years, the team went 23-36-7 at home.

With the lack of scoring, and the lack of any future commits that are rocking the points totals in Juniors ... you have to be concerned going forward.

Also, anyone know if Shipley is also injured? He's been a glaring omission recently.

Yesterday was Shipley's first missed game of the season, but worth noting he was the extra skater on Thursday. Not sure if he has played his way down and then out of the lineup?

Gill only has two years of eligibility anyway (including this year), per Mike McMahon

Ah, do you think he’ll stick around? It’s a strange path he’s taking. But then we’re living in strange times. I haven’t forgiven him for that hit on Mikey DeAngelo. Yes he got tossed and suspended one more, but Mikey missed more than that recovering.

We won’t know until Wednesday but it’s looking like The Flagship will host either the Riverhawks or Merrimack next weekend. Bring the cool Riverhawk uniforms, not those hideous Lowell ones if it’s you. Good luck.

I agree that he's probably gone at the end of the season, but if he (and the rest of the MC top guys) stick around, that team could be something to watch in the next year or two. But I also agree that his discipline (or lack thereof) is noticeable. He leads them in penalty minutes and it looks like he's had one game where he took a holding then a boarding, another with an elbowing and a tripping, and yet another with a roughing, then later an embellishment AND another separate unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (abuse of officials maybe?) on the same play. Even in the game against UMass when he didn't get ejected, he had a hitting from behind penalty. The guy can obviously play, though, I believe he has the longest goal streak in the NCAA this year (7 games)

Question for you guys in the off chance you know - did something happen at Tsongas last season to precipitate the bag policy change? Management change? Issue with someone bringing something in they shouldn't have? I meant to ask this back in January when I was refused entry bringing a pocketbook I've brought to every game at Tsongas the last 10 years.
