UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Once again, I am speechless after witnessing another horrendous performance from this program.

Oh by the way, Elliot Gulley, Aidan Dyer, Nicky Romeo, and Jack Solomon all decommitted today.

It's time for regime change.

Speaking of a regime change, it is time for one for Lowell basketball. All they can do is beat D3 teams.
They played better yesterday, so I'll give them that. I watched the last few minutes, a nice comeback and then they couldn't buy a bucket. This year's team is tough to judge with almost the entire roster being new.

Just watched a video on the upgrades the Alfond just had, I understand we did a bit of upgrade not too long to the facilities and the workout spaces. But thats state of the art what they just put in up there. They WANT sustained success.

Surprised to see that with the bad start to the season, Lowell basketball just picked up their highest ever rated recruit. A 4-star from Maryland, Jasiah Cannady has committed to the River Hawks for the 2026 season. We'll see if this commitment stands, as Lowell beat out a few teams including a SEC program in Mississippi State.

Didn't realize just how poorly every team in this tourney is playing right now (h/t Mike McMahon):

"You’ll struggle to find a better backdrop for college hockey than Lake Placid. Clarkson, St. Lawrence, UMass Lowell, and Alaska headline the third edition of this event — and all four teams arrive in need of a course correction.

Clarkson enters the weekend amid a five-game losing streak. The Golden Knights managed just one goal in four straight outings before finally breaking through with three tallies last Saturday at Princeton.

Their North Country rivals at St. Lawrence are stuck in the same rut — five consecutive losses and searching for answers.

Alaska hasn’t played since Nov. 8 and has sputtered to an 0-4-1 mark in its last five contests.

UMass Lowell, idle last weekend, is still digesting a punishing trip through the Capital Region, where they were shelled 7-1 by Union before being shut out 2-0 by RPI."

Should be fine for us because we can't score either and if we lose, no one's gonna say we had a long way off, and the men were stuffed full of turkey.

This crew and this ESPN+ broadcast is f'in atrocious. At the end of the first, the records shown for Lowell were 2-8-1 and Clarkson is apparently 2-11-1. What the hell?

5 minute major towards the end of the first and Shipley is done for the game.

With less than 8 minutes left in the game, Lowell is down 2-0. That was also the score going into the third, and through the first approximately 12 minutes, the team that desperately needs offensive pressure has a whopping ... 2 shots on goal in the third period. Since that shocking result at UNH (in terms of goals scored), Lowell has scored one goal in their last 8.5+ periods. This is just pathetic. Bazin just hasn't been able to recruit any high end forwards since really CJ and Gamby.

I truly don't know why I watched. Another Loss. 4 out of 13 games Lowell has been shutout. 7 out of 13 games Lowell hasn't scored more than 1 goal. Starting since the 2023/2024 season, Lowell is averaging 2.27 GPG. If you disregard the 8 goals scored by Lowell against the absolute worst team in hockey (0-14 Mercyhurst), Lowell has scored 1.82 GPG this season.

Embarrassing isn't even the word anymore.

The bottom line it's time for Norm to go
