UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

With WMU winning last night, 3 out of the last 5 National Championship winners were first time winners. 2 out of the last 5 runner ups would’ve been first time winners as well. All of this to say that despite expansion, the emergence of the portal and NIL, I still hold onto hope Lowell can win the big one someday.

I just... I do hope but we had a window and we didn't build on it. we stopped getting the quality of players, either others targeted the same type of player or we didn't "graduate" to getting higher caliber players

I think this was briefly mentioned before, but my guess is they won't opt in. The men's XC team has been arguably the most successful team on campus this decade, having won five straight America East championships. They currently have a roster size of over 50, and the opt-in roster limits are only 17. The only problem I can see is that it is not a revenue-generating sport for the school.
Well I might have been completely mistaken, as the XC/Track coach posted this today:

In other news, WLAX becomes the first team in AE to clinch a playoff spot. They're 11-2 on the season, and 5-0 in league play.

And MBB picks up a transfer from Senior PF Jerrell Roberson from James Madison. Hasn't played much the last two seasons, with only 23 games played and averaging just around 2 PPG.

When the World Championships start in Sweden this weekend, there will be 4 former RiverHawks over there. Gustavs Davis Grigals is one of three goaltenders for Team Latvia, and Team France will feature Guillaume Leclerc, head coach Yorick Treille, and one of his assistants is a guy named Norm Bazin.

FYI… you can watch your future goalie play right now on victory+ app for free. He is in goal in the OHL finals.

Last call for the transfer portal.

The portal is open from March 30 to May 13. Players can commit to schools after the portal closes. Graduates can enter at any time. Players who have had their aid cut or had a head coaching change have 30 days to enter if it's outside of the transfer window
