UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Somehow it feels like we're right back to last season's team. The California tournament ended and everything immediately went to s***

This collapse isn’t going to help when the transfer portal opens. Let’s hope we don’t lose anyone good, both on the team now and those coming in. If I am a bigger name program, I am calling the Buttazoni family.

The problem with that... if it were found out that is happening... then a can of worms would most definitely open.

Last night, it was apparent that this team does not want to play for the coach. I'd be okay if the school wanted to make a change behind the bench. I feel he's lost touch with the current style. I would like to keep Coach Boschetto on though. I think hes done a pretty good job with what the team has had and recruited well.

Lowell’s positioning is solidified at #7. Win or lose tonight, it really doesn’t change that much. Norm should dress Roc and let him play tonight. It would be a nice gesture to the Truman family.

Lowell has to work on getting homers work the ESPN game... I don't want professionals, I want homers.

when they do it we get a 5 min major, when we do it we get a 2 min minor.... yeah Meehan raised his hands but that hit wasn't kosher

edit:: 5:40 or so... I love that wind up and get stripped shot, not only are you telegraphing to the world to get slightly more power but you're giving another half second for the defense.

ok... last complaint... move the damned puck on the power play... I can't imagine norm wants players to just sit there with open points for 3 seconds at a time. The choices that are made are just nuts

Tough day for UML athletics.

Hockey- loss
Men’s basketball- loss (season over)
Men’s lacrosse- loss
Baseball- loss
Softball- two losses (doubleheader)

Women’s lacrosse was the only victorious team on the day.

So I went nowhere tonight... possible full day tomorrow... but since I did nothing today...

wlax 71/131... Bryant 57, UMBC 65, Albany 68
mlax 67/77 and 3-3... creamed by Fairfield 19-4... don't expect much. 2 more wins tops (NJIT 72, Bingo 57).

I'll look into if there a computer rankings for baseball and softball.... but both of their records are bad so I don't expect much

Just like last year, 3 games in a row against UNH and just like last year likely losing 3 in a row to UNH as well. I don't see us winning Wednesday night

They played a lot better last night, but the lack of scoring and the penalties got them in the end. I watched some of game on ESPN+ and noticed a few times players giving up shots to make an extra pass that didn't connect. Just put the puck on net and crash the net.

Too many penalties, 16 penalties for the weekend o_O. That included a couple of 5 on 3's and a 5-minute major. It was the same officiating crew both nights.

The Men's basketball season was a big disappointment. Wasn't this the year they were finally going win the league? They finished tied for 6th in league with UNH (17-15, AE 6-10). I don't follow the team that closely, but something went wrong that the coach needs to answer for.

I'm trying to convince myself that I want to go to the game on Wednesday, and having little luck.

Up until last season, I had never left a game early. Last season I did it a couple of times in the second period, and I did the same on Friday night after the second. I don't mind losing, I do have a MAJOR f'in problem with lack of passion. That was an utter embarrassment how they came out on Friday night.

what i want to see. I keep saying puck control but I think that's hard to ask. Its not in the current style for them to come out like the 12-17 teams. They can't corral them on defense, and pucks bounce off of sticks on offense.

1. quick controlled puck movement on the power play. No panic, if you aren't the answer on the points shuffle it around and somebody else will find an answer. the power play is all about getting the opportunity to find holes. Make them work, no trickery
2. opportunism. Shoot first and don't panic if it doesn't work out. Trust your stick and find holes and seams.
