UMass Lowell 2021-2022: Which way are we going?

2-1 through 2... about where I thought we'd be... I sure hope we've learned enough to get through the 3rd but ZooMass can just as well turn it back on us. More hockey.

Crasa with an own goal and Lee with a stupid penalty, the light is fading on this one. The question is whether or not the 2021-22 Riverhawks get to learn the lesson or the 22-23 riverhawks get to learn the lesson. (This year's team most likely but time will tell)

Feel bad for Crasa. Didn't play that bad, actually outplayed UMASS overall just didn't get it done. Now we wait.

No we didn't outplay UMass.

edit: the way we play is very very high chance. It relies on more talent than what we have. The reality is that it relies on a lucky bounce or two and teams like UMass are going to snuff those out.

The flagship is our daddy.

Uconn and Harvard winning today didn't help. What are we rooting for tomorrow? Any single win from Umass, Q or Minn-State?

It's real simple at this point:

Minnesota State
Quinnipiac
UMass

If just 1 of those 3 wins tomorrow, we are in the NCAAs. If all 3 somehow lose, then we'll see you in October.

yeah, its that cut and dried right now.

It will be interesting FOR ME if both UConn and Lowell are in and NU is golfing because that might mean a Worcester/Albany sequence and some minor social responsibility to do both but we'll see.

If Minnesota State, Quinnipiac, and UConn all win today, Hockey East gets 4 teams in the tournament.

Congratulation to the Hawks for getting back to the Garden. I thought the Hawks played hard and generated some good chances but they just don't have the finish that Amherst has. The Minutemen always seem to be in the right place and make the right play. They also blocked 21 shots. Hopefully the Hawks get at least one more game this season.

if we can keep the band together (specifically Lee) and luck out on a goaltender i'm quite curious to see what next year's team can turn into... not world breaking but I think maybe talented enough for a surprise F4 trip.

As for this year, I don't know what the western teams are like but my heart says pip Minnesota just to fight UMass again.

Getting interesting.

Minnesota State 1-1 (After 2)
Quinnipiac 1-2 (9 to go in the 2nd)
UMass 1-1 ( End of 2)

It's a moot point as Umass won, but apparently Minn-State may not have actually won. They awarded the trophy and the arena was emptied, but the goal is somehow under review.

Harvard wins it in OT 3-2.

From the tourney thread.

CCHA posted an Official Statement. Apparently, the goal was immediately reviewed and determined to be a good goal. Then they found new angles that showed that the net was elevated and they reviewed it again with the new angles and determined it was not a good goal.

FWIW, I have not seen a replay from any angle that supported it was a good goal.

In any event, game on!

Northeastern must be going crazy.
