UMass Lowell 2021-2022: Which way are we going?

tech and osu both won so the last playoff berth if we look at #14 belongs to the second best team in HEA at this rate, so keep winning until we can't.

A Northeastern regulation win today means Lowell can finish no higher than the #3 seed. A Lowell win in regulation or OT means they will finish no lower than the #3 seed. Lowell will be the #2 seed with a regulation win and Northeastern winning in OT or losing, or with an OT win and Northeastern loss in OT or regulation. Lowell can still fall to #5 with a regulation loss, and a Merrimack win (OT or regulation) and a BU regulation win.

Lowell can get a share of the regular season title with a regulation win, a UMass regulation loss, and Northeastern loss in OT or regulation.

Lowell loses in OT/Shootout
#3 seed with a Merrimack loss or OT win

Lowell loses in regulation
#3 seed with a Northeastern win (regulation or OT) and BU failing to win in regulation
#4 seed with a Merrimack regulation win and BU failing to win in regulation or with a Merrimack OT/Shootout win AND a BU OT/shootout win
#5 seed with BU winning in regulation and Merrimack winning in OT or regulation.

In the event of a 4-way tie at 44 points, Merrimack gets the #2 seed, Lowell #3, Northeastern #4 and BU #5 (if I calculated it correctly).

In a 3-way tie between Lowell, Merrimack, and Northeastern at 44 points, it would be Merrimack #2, Lowell #3, and Northeastern #4.

In a 3-way tie between Lowell, Merrimack, and BU at 43 points, it would be Merrimack #3, Lowell #4, and BU #5.

holy hell how is that not a penalty shot... 4:18 left i can see declining it, but jesus.

positive pairwise news, Ohio State lost and will have to play Penn State again tomorrow. Lowell moves ahead of OSU in the pairwise. If OSU loses again then... well, I think we must win the first game but we might be in there unless there's some carnage in the other leagues if we do win the QF game.

Penn State eliminated Ohio State 2-1 in game 3.

were you listening too or do you have BTN?

OSU may not be done, a lot will depend on NU and UML winning their game and then a lot of shakeouts afterwards as well as whether or not QU wins. a ways to go but that was a major result for hockey east.

I was listening to their radio stream. I meant they were eliminated from the Big 10 tournament.

I knew what you meant

edit: this time of year is crazy... went from watching the MBB on ESPN+ (I didn't get up until nearly game time, so I didn't drive up to Catonsville) to checking in on the ECAC games with an RPI comeback and St Larrys winning theirs.
