Nope, definitely showing their capabilities with another play trying to be too fancy (the play-by-by guy even said "too fancy") which then right afterwards led to 2-1 NU lead. And then Chapie gets another of his dumb penalties and major to boot (so nice to see he's stepping up his penalties) and he's tossed for the game. So they're playing just as we've seen them recently.

Seriously... Chapie needs to be sat... It's not like he's 1.5 ppg guy

Agreed. I've been getting sick of his taking dumb penalties the last few games. He needs to sit.

This game is really embarrassing. I know it's only 2-1 but Lowell should be walking all over these guys, especially the goalie who isn't very good. Offense continues to be invisible, too many fancy plays, and Campbell is still MIA.

I still think they're playing flat... They aren't even generating the style of play they've been playing in the past.

Meanwhile after one period, Hellebuyck has stopped all three shots in his first NHL start.

This team is going to give me a heart attack by the end of the season. 2-2 with a minute left in the third on a McGrath pp goal.

Unbelievable. 3-2 OT win on a Zink goal. A game they had no business winning, crazy, but we'll take it.

Agreed.

Did anyone catch Norm's interview before the 3rd? They asked him what players the fans should watch for and he said Chapie and Zink.

Chapie had an impact for the wrong reasons obviously, but still an amazing prognostication.

Happy with the result despite the sloppy play. Hopefully they play much better tomorrow. They need this win agsinst another ECAC team.

Don't know what's up with Chapie this season but his 31 penalty minutes in 14 games already surpasses each of his last three season totals (35 games/12 minutes; 38 games/14 minutes; 36 games/22 minutes). While his minutes have trended upward each year, 31 in 14 games is a little too much. Hope tonight was a wake up call as he's much more important to the team as its leading scorer, not penalty minute leader.

Game Highlights. That last play was so close to offsides, but to my quarter speed repeatedly pausing looks like a good play. Surprised it wasn't reviewed though (since it was televised it can if I recall the rule change after the Union Game 4 years ago).

The color commentator was maybe the worst I've ever heard in any sport at any level. Just brutal.

Harry Doyle's color commentator in Major League would've been an upgrade over this guy.

I enjoyed the Irish play-by-play guy, must be part of the regular Belfast Giants crew. Was interesting to hear the slang and various differences in describing the game vs. here. But the color guy was just painful.

I think they just picked any warm body from the Belfast Giants roster that had also played NCAA to be the color analyst. Not sure that guy evey wanted to be there and it showed.
