Are you kidding me, Brown ties it to make it 4-4. Thank god Lowell is scoring tonight.

Hopefully the scoring continues in the 3rd period. Give Brown credit they are working very hard in the offensive zone and getting guys to the net. Very disappointing giving up a two two goal leads. The Hawks need to tighten things up, too many mistakes in their own zone.

Brown isn't giving up whereas at moments, Lowell almost appears to be taking those two leads for granted and getting a little sloppy. They need to stop taking Brown lightly and just press all through the third period. Tighten things up and put them away.

OT again as Smith scores to tie it. This team is definitely going to give me a heart attack.

Re: UMass Lowell 2015-2016 Season Thread

Zink had a monster weekend. But the tie drops us from 7 to 10 in PWR but still only November and still only one loss on the season.

Lowell shows a lot of resiliency and character, coming back both nights, no lead is safe against them. Then again, they need to lock down and not give up any more two goal leads. On to UConn.

Wait until all the games are played today where they end up in the PWR today even though it is still early to be watching this.
Lowell strength of schedule has been hurting them in the PWR but that will change when they play the other top teams in the league.

The 5th Brown goal was BS....let the opponent wack away at your goalie and basically push him into the net.

I thought Edwardh got tripped behind the net that allowed the Brown player to take the puck to the net. I can't believe two Brown player's got multiple wacks at it. Where were all the Hawks?

Re: UMass Lowell 2015-2016 Season Thread

The last two nights are enough to send some fans to the ER.
Remember a few yrs ago with <2 seconds left, etc. I think I learned how long I could hold my breath that season. That was the yr they screwed us with the BU game. They won so many times at the last second I couldn't believe they didn't win that one.

Haven't seen it yet but my Aunt was watching and could not understand why they were allowed to maul the goalie.

He definitely got tripped behind the net. The ref stood there and just let it go and we know what happened after that.

Watching the game now. Really cool to hear our fans chanting at the end of the game.

"Maul" is a pretty dramatic word to use - the whistle hadn't been blown, so the Brown players kept playing. They did nothing wrong, given that the ref hadn't brought the play to an end.

Now, I'm not going to pretend to understand why the play wasn't blown dead immediately after Boyle covered the puck. That's a total mystery.

Anyway, it was an entertaining encounter today. I think Lowell is definitely a top-5 team right now - there's some seriously impressive talent on that roster. Congrats on your trophy!

My Aunt is 81 years old and a homer. When I watched it looked like the refs were right. He hadn't covered the puck from what I could see but that was from an angle in the back.

Much less of a cardiac moment when you are watching 3 hours after it happened and you know the outcome

No whistle was iffy but I agree with boblav. No way that guy should have been allowed to stand there and take multiple wacks at Boyle's glove. Riverhawks were spectators on that play.

That's what bothered me the most, not that the ref didn't blow the whistle but that Lowell players were MIA and not clearing the guy out of there. Something that hopefully the coaching staff zeros in on during video review with the team.
