BU put themselves into the position they were in. They have no one to blame but themselves.
Absolutely, if they were a better team they would have won more games. Groundbreaking

Ah good. You agree with me then. UML had nothing to do with it.
Well they dominated BU in Lowell. Guess that's just BU underperforming according to you?
Um, no. Tonight's UML win over BC did not screw BU. That was your initial statement, was it not? Not one mention of UML's win over BU two weeks ago.
My apologies. Fishawk was trying to have UML's win tonight be the reason BU was screwed, not you.
UML also had some results they'd like back. Two ties against Merrimack, swept by UConn, lost at home to UNH.
Oh hell yes. Not to mention spotting multiple early goals to PC, BU and BC on the road before remembering to play our game and start catching up. (NOT taking away from the performance of the other teams mentioned)UML also had some results they'd like back. Two ties against Merrimack, swept by UConn, lost at home to UNH.
A) No
B) No (but it will help)
C) Yes, but they need to win at least one of the first two games in the series. I think there's a small chance they could still make it without another win, but it would take a lot of luck.
After last night's win, they are in a much better position than they were last season heading into the HE tournament.
Also, unlike last season, they are almost assured to play teams higher than them in the PWR throughout the tournament, which also helps should they get more wins. ND and VT didn't help them much last year.
Does anyone know for sure whether a) UML must win out Hockey East to go to the tourney, b) UML needs to go deep in HE series to go to the tourney or c)UML could go to the tourney if they lose first series to most likely BU?
THis is why I love the Board. No need to think. Someone will post the answer.A) No

I like the other guys answer better.Losing the QF would probably leave us in a perilous place. We'd be at the mercy of the "wind". Even a 2-1 would still leave me nervous (because 2-2 isn't thrilling to our cause). Now, that being said, its better than playing UMass because I would THINK that weakening out SOS even more could put the AIC game into the calculation and make our RPI even worse.
Major credit to the Hawks last night. Did their job to perfection. And also credit to whoever it was that decided to show the BU game on the DiamondVision. That was awesome and I was amazed how many people stuck around to watch that!
SENIOR SUCCESS: The senior class has the best winning percentage (.676) in the program's 33 Division 1 years, with a 95-41-17 record. Last year's senior class won the most games (99-47-13) for a .664 winning percentage.
Bazin has high praise for seniors Ryan McGrath, Adam Chapie, Robert Francis (Western Michigan transfer), A.J. White and Michael Fallon, all forwards, and goaltender Boyle (UMass transfer). No Hockey East senior class has won more games than UML.
"No question we're very proud of that. This senior class has won 12 championships," Bazin said.
The class would have been even stronger had goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and defenseman Christian Folin not turned pro after their sophomore years. Nationally, only Quinnipiac and North Dakota, with 100 each, have won more games over the last four seasons than UML.
So... um... what do we do with ourselves next week?
enjoy 8-11 crappy hockey games? Watch Roy4Hobey implode in front of his keyboard while his team does it on the ice? Read the UNH thread as they slowly go back to discussing whether SOG is a stat worth considering? Watch Maine fans pretend there are no games this weekend and talk about some 14 year old who committed to their program? Mail UMass' AD telling him Micheletto is doing a great job? Stress over pairwise implications of games that will have no effect? Root for a meteor to hit Agganis?
