UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March Thread II

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March Thread II

Game ends tied.

I don't think we can emphasize how big those two HOME games are next weekend. Bring your friends, bring your family. Don't bring your sheep. That's Vermont's job. ;)

For Saturday's games, Lowell needs to cheer for:

BU
Maine
Merrimack
UMass

I'm going to be sick. :(

It's easy here... Cheer for us because we need more help... We need to get us there before worrying about the rest

Just got back from the game and happy to say in general Lowell played very well tonight. Intensity was there. Boyle was **** good, probably best I've seen him play. PK was better. PP sucked.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March Thread II

Got to the game late last night but caught the 2nd and 3rd periods. Judging by those two periods, Lowell should have won this game. Too many good opportunities that they didn't capitalize on. One wide open shot by Campbell that he missed. Power play was pretty pitiful.

Boyle messed up at the end of the 3rd there trying to give the puck to one of the defenseman and had to skate back to the net.. that was terrible.

Overall, glad they got the tie, but SHOULD have won. Can't wait for next weekend's back-to-back against Vermont.

Wow i'm not sure what game you were watching if you're using the 3rd period as evidence that lowell "should" have won.

Jake Suter wasn't in the lineup last night. Did he get injured or was that a coach's decision?

Getting out shot 14-4 in the third, I guess he thinks Lowell should have scored 4 times with their 4 SOG. ;)

Looking at the box score it would seem Lowell just held on for dear life in the 3rd but it really didn't "feel" that way if you were there. UML had chances to win. Ugly thing was UML had 2 PP in the 3rd and didn't have a decent scoring chance in either. Instead of smelling blood they go into slomo on the advantage.

Notre Dame wins 3-2
Maine wins 6-3
MC & UVM tie 0-0
UMA wins in OT 2-1

So Providence, Lowell and Notre Dame are at 23 points with Northeastern and Vermont at 22. Gonna be a wild final weekend! Amazing that after all UML's woes if they take care of business against VT and get 1 win from Notre Dame and 1 pt from Maine they would finish in 2nd place. Wishful thinking I know but....

According to the HE standings post, 27 points means a lock for a bye. So Lowell's destiny is in their own hands. Sweep Vermont, earn a bye and catapult themselves back into the top 15 of the PWR. There's no need to scoreboard watch when all you have to do is take care of business on the ice.

I was there. I'm always there.
I agree. I was surprised when I saw the box score disparity, but also think each team had some very good chances to win it.
I thought BC got the better of play in the third, and dominated the OT. The Eagles lack a stud goal scorer/finisher.
I hate walking out of the arena feeling like my team lost. That's how I felt Friday night. I'm sure Lowell fans felt the same.

Agreed! Except given how hard it is to get a win at Conte and Lowell's sketchy play of late I didn't feel bad walking out with a tie. Good luck on Monday, given how close Harvard is to UML in PWR I'm rooting BC.

you'll survive;)...........Straight and Cangelosi missed almost sure goals late in that game. It felt like a loss for me too but later, after seeing results elsewhere on Saturday night i was feeling better about it
