Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

You would think they'd want to put up the highlights of such a great game. Not so much, it seems.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Not sure if I've seen anyone else make mention of this, but did anyone else find the pink ice very distracting? I complete applaud the intention (along with everything else that was "pink") but my eyes had a really hard time with the ice. Especially as the periods wore on and ice got worn....
Barely noticed the color at all.

Hopefully, the appropriate parties are just sleeping off the celebrations from last night and they'll be up later. Be a shame if not.

No issue with me.....I barley noticed it after a few minutes had gone by in each period.

I think some of the lines were harder to see as the periods went on, other than that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I did like the zamboni's cleaning the ice, it looked like they were painting them pink :)

It was tough on the Internet feed... Of course that was screwed up until late in the first.

I know I texted ScottK to tell the roving camera guy (in that section) that he was broadcasting to the Internet... Minute later it was working... Don't know if its because of that or not

Man ... that was just fun. That's really all I can say at this point. What a comeback. Still no highlights up though.

And always great to get a win in front of a record crowd. :D

Finally ... Patronick, this won't be forgotten! ;)

I'm the lowest of the low.

Did a little checking today - the last time Lowell came back from a 3-goal deficit to win was the consolation game of the Badger showdown, 12/28/2003. They trailed Union 3-0 after 1 period and won 5-3. The last time Lowell overcame a 3-goal deficit in the 3rd period was at home on 2/9/2002, when they came back to tie UMass 3-3. I've gone back to 1998 and I have yet to find a game where they trailed by 3 in the 3rd period and won.

First of all.. nice to meet you in person Fishhawk!

Second, my wife and I want to thank the family who came mid way through the second period who had the cutest 3 year old girl. (Yes they were late, but they had like 6 kids, likely took them time to get there) All she wanted to do was to ring my wife's cowbell. This kept our spirits high as UML was playing poorly and the game looked grim. I think things happen for a reason and this little girl kept our interest in the game and didn't allow us to get pessimistic. She kept us cheering even though we were down 4-1. Never underestimate the power of a child.
I have a bag of cowbells. We have a little one show up every once in awhile with her folks. She is the cutest thing and likes to hold it but not ring it :) We were sitting in front of some hockey newbies, one of which was a snookie clone. That kept us amused if not shaking our heads :p

Nice to meet you too Weatherman! Cool story about the girl and the cowbell, we had a similar experience with a late-coming young family. I was with my 3 teen/tween girls who all got the freebee pink greek council t-shirts on the way in. We heard the 5 year old girl next to us ask her dad why everyone had the same pink shirts on and he explained that they got in too late for her to get one so my 14 year old gave her shirt to the little kid which made her a very happy camper.

Thanks Pressbox I'm glad to hear that disallowed goal wasn't a bad call. Hopeful and biased yes, but it really looked good to a lot of savy attentive fans in 104 and 105. Not that it mattered cause we won anyway!!!

What happened with the cell phone light show? What an epic fail!
THis is really cool

Interesting. I'm actually trying to remember the last time we scored after pulling the goalie.

You can go back to 2009 when Lowell scored 3 extra attacker goals to tie games and then win all 3 games in OT. 2 of those
games were in the Hockey East playoffs (vs Vermont in the quarterfinals and vs Northeastern in the semis). The other game was
at Boston College.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

I was thinking this is not the first time we have come back against NU- didn't Schaus do his famous bird thing with something like 1.6 seconds left? Maybe I am just misremembering but I thought we have had more than a few nailbiters with NU in the last few years.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

I have an email in with the Hawks, but just in case, does anyone have extra tickets for Friday night at MC? I will need two.

We did it against Clarkson on a delayed penalty earlier this month. Before that, you have to go back to the loss at Northeastern just before break last season.

Sorry, meant pulling the goalie at the end of the game, needing a goal.
