Totally agree with both of you on this. It is great to see the heavy investments being made cosmetically, academically & athletically the past few years. It really is driving up the brand value and respectability of the school and making us all prouder to sport the logo on our resumes….thanks Marty.

Well 9 hours to puck drop...think this is the first time I'm seeing total hockey fever around campus as I've seen 50 students wear their jerseys to class already.

Speaking of investment, the grand opening of the Emerging Technologies & Innovation Center was yesterday.

I seriously hope they put it together tonight... Looking forward to it... Sadly I won't have time to replace the computer's power supply before the game so no big screen action.

On that note, I know NU does it but they are private... Any chance in getting broadcasts to HD at some point? I'm curious as to what it would take but then again NU has that luxury... Don't suppose we can convince a high tech company to sponsor it if we did?

We averaged 5287 for home HE games last year.

With this being the home opener, no NHL, and the expectations we have, I'd be pretty shocked if we were under 6000 people tonight.

I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if we got that many tonight. I know the students will come out, but I doubt the locals will...

Although it may not have felt like it, this was actually the shortest offseason in Lowell history. It's been 202 days since the Union game. It was also 202 days between the 1-1 tie* against BU in the 2009 Hockey East Championship game and the opening game against St. Lawrence in the Icebreaker the following October.

yeah, better picture this season... they were lag-alicious last week, but fine right now.

This is why we don't brag about the score until its done...

Plenty of pressure for Lowell... I'm not sure there was a lot of shot creativity... plenty of opportunities... not enough finishing... I think the tempo of second period wore us out as witnessed late in the 3rd into OT... Vermont is good... we are better but that goes back to finishing... we are as good as they say we are on paper... Synitsyn turned over too often... Lowell will find their way on shooting... Vermont did their work clogging things up... but we had enough chances to win 7-0. Houk needs to stop taking penalties... that's 5 minutes I want back... he needs to go lower on the depth chart or left home... he's **** talented... but christ almighty

Off to Denver, not the way I wanted but its the way it will be.

I think killing off the major and the 5 on 3 did a number on the team. After that the Hawks couldn't seem to get it going again. Impressive 2nd period but no finish. There were some stretches that were pretty wide open where both teams had some good chances.

They definitely lost something after killing off that 5 on 3, nothing seemed to flow smoothly after that. Agreed on needing to finish, lots of missed opportunities tonight. But at least we weren't Michigan losing in OT to RIT last night and escaped with 1 point. Work out the kinks in practice this week and then get two non-league wins next week in CO as tune up for BC next Friday.

Fantastic turnout tonight, largest crowd ever there. And they'll be back next week for BC as there is a definite buzz about this team.

Houk has to get disciplined fast or I see a long season of his penalties killing us at the worst time. McGrath impressed me quite a bit as did Synitzyn to an extent.

And please, please can Rowdy get over his case of the "blues"? New costume is horrible, no one around us liked it, and have no idea why they changed it. Needs to go back to the pre-accident Rowdy.

I only saw it once and I agree....

on the other hand, did you see the "old" muscle bound rowdy in the student section.

I prefer the red bird, so what if blue is our primary color again... it fits in better with the logo and looks sharper.
