Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Huge game for UML soccer this afternoon. #5 UML @ #1 LIU Post, at 3:30.

Interesting to note that 20 of their players (LIU Post) are from European.

Happy it's time for hockey again. Listened to the exhibition and it's tough to make any predictions from that game. I'm really interested to see how the Vermont game goes next weekend before the team heads out west. Will also be interesting to see how the team does with the higher expectations, how the returning players improved during the offseason, and how the new players will fit in. Really looking forward to being able to get to the Tsongas this season and see a few games. How do the new concourse boxes, restaurant choices, and other changes look?

Go River Hawks!

Changes came out pretty good. All the boxes are now suites although it still might say "club boxes" on the tickets. The unfortunate side effect to this construction is a number of seats on either end of the suites now considered "obstructed view". The wall of fame that was on the North part of the concourse has been relocated to the walls behind the suites. Rowdy's Roadhouse, which used to have it's access inside the club rooms off the North concourse now has a window directly on the concourse for ordering. I have not seen the new Riverhawks performance center or video room in person, only through pictures.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

The UML facebook page posted a note saying they are going to post some common cheers :), a step in the right direction.

"STUDENTS: Take a look and learn the ropes. How to maximize your experience at the Tsongas Center....bring your ID, swipe to earn points and get a ticket, enjoy the game!

Tomorrow we will post some of the common cheers and chants as compiled by students and alumni. Stay tuned!"

They also posted this flyer:

Good deal.

Good deal.

It's alot better than what was in the Connector for this week. The entire back page was dedicated to the hockey "chants" and the schedule.

Is it me or has anyone else noticed at the hockey east website, the december game at Harvard is on NBC Sports? Perhaps theres a possibility for a televised home game with the NHL lockout ?

I will say that nobody's against creativity. When I was in school, while there were a few students... and mostly Monty, ScottK, Go-UML, RH73, et. al. we were mostly coming up with loud one-liners and one-off chants. But I suppose that's what happens when you have a culturally aligned patchwork of more mature people (not so much due to age, but attitude)... when you get all people, you get all of them... for awhile hockey fans self-selected... now they don't anymore. Comes with the territory.

Pat, when we were leaving Lowell, some of the people in our section were on the connector and when they moved the students behind the opposing net, those people did print out the chants that were being used by us. For the most part, the chants are the same, you just have more people saying them, and I think the coordination is generally better.

We should start a pool for how many games into the season does it take the student section to get the "It's all your fault" chant right...

Here is hoping that we get 4+ goals in the first game so they can learn early :).
