UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Wow...just a brutal draw for Lowell. Playing the hottest team in the country (Wisconsin) and then perhaps UNH in Manchester. Almost doesn't seem fair...they'll earn this one!

If you can win the Hockey East tournament, you can make it out of this regional.

This should be the regional with the best atmosphere and best hockey.

Can some STH include me in their ticket purchase... I'm more than good for it. Drop me an e-mail.

I'm puzzled, and I'm not the only one, by this 'Wisconsin is the hottest team' talk. Guess our run is just the usual run-of-the-mill thing. No biggie, we'll just work hard to add two more wins to it.

It might be a brutal draw but it's what we wanted. We're going to do our darndest to fill the place and rock it to victory.

#1 seed and pick to win the whole thing. uutf:eek:
I know, right? Don't pinch me if I'm dreaming.

I think Lowell can exit this bracket and head to Pittsburgh, but not if one or two goals a game is what's on tap. No team among the three they could face is going to be beaten 1-0 or 2-1.

Since December 1st, Wisconsin is 21-5-5, on a 6 game winning streak, and 11-3-1 in their last 15.

Fact is that both schools started out slow but really turned it on in the 2nd half, Lowell just didn't start out 1-7-2.

It's unfortunate that the numbers were such that the two hottest teams ended up playing in the first round.

well, if want to look at either "half" we have the better record in each... nevertheless... one game, 60 minutes.

True, but UW's losses came to the #2 (UMN), #5 (Miami), #7 (UND), and #12 (SCSU) seeds (plus PSU) in the tournament.

Since Nov 30th: UW: 21-5-5 UML: 22-5-1

You can split hairs over which is "better" when both are very, very good considering the quality of the teams they played.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

I have the same opinion now that I had when I was asked who I wanted to face at the Garden: It simply doesn't matter. Put whoever you want in front of Lowell, they've proven that they're the best team in the country right now. They have the goalie, the defense, the playmakers and the coach. They're going to have the biggest group of supporters at the Regional.

Manchester is going to be a lot of fun, there's a lot of good hockey to be played.

"Student Bus Trip
UMass Lowell's Division of Student Affairs is sponsoring a bus trip for interested students to Manchester on Friday afternoon. Tickets are just $27 and include an All-Session Pass and a seat on the bus."

Pretty good deal for the students. Should all sell out, they have 120 seats.

The fact is, they are the two hottest teams in the country right now. Since Christmas, they have the best and second best record, so yeah, it's about equal with how hot they are. I'm just looking forward to some fantastic hockey on Friday. I think this Lowell team has what it takes to get the trophy tri-fecta, but it's going to be difficult in the region of death. BC has a cakewalk so here's to meeting up with them in Pitt.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Records are the past. What matters is what they bring on the ice that night (or afternoon as the case may be  stoopid early start!!). I envy those who can have supreme confidence. When we get to this stage my brain goes into suspended animation mode with a mix of hope, anxiety and fear.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Didn't get to the show last night, probably alot more people than last year though ?
Do we non STH's stand a chance of getting tickets tomorrow or should I buy them today on internet?

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Pre-game headquarters just got put up on the website. It's Murphy's Taproom.

All fans headed to the game are encouraged to join us at Murphy's Taproom in Manchester beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Murphy's Taproom is located just two blocks south of the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Oh yeah. Decently sized for the people we might get. I was hoping for Strangebrew because of their beer selection but I think they picked Murphy's because it's literally right across the street.

No idea. I bought mine this morning on ticketb*****d. There seemed a bunch of seats in the balcony and in the ends/corners of the rink. $91 after fees and other garbage.

Even though a short drive from the seacoast I just booked a room at the radisson. This way I don't have to worry about driving and the cops pulling me over. They are all over route 101. GO RIVERHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Was too spent after 2 nights of craziness to go to Sportszone last night. How was the turnout? Did Norm or Marty or any players attend?
