Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread II

Ok, I was there tonight but I really don't understand what penalty SHOULDN'T have been called? The punch to the PC players face in view of a ref? I would say all the penalties that were called tonight were LEGIT penalties both ways. Was it too many? Yes but by the rule book they are penalties.

He absolutely should have been called for roughing/hitting after the whistle on that. Problem was, so should have the PC player who did it right before him to the other Lowell player - those calls weren't consistent. They were very lax with crap after the whistle and very zeroed in on trips, holds and obstructions.

I'm really happy for you guys. Nice going. After Friday night, that showed a lot of balls. Congrats

It was bad enough that our radio guy was complaining on PC's behalf at one point. It was the inconsistancy. Listening in there was no flow- whistle seemed to blow so often it was like the ref had hiccoughs.

I think the only team that went home happy on their Sr night was UMass and they aren't happy in the end. Weird season.

Congrats on the regular season championship, unreal turnaround from a couple of years ago, shows what a coach can do to a program both good and bad

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread II

Now UML needs to get the fans out this week. Maine thread has them booking hotel rooms and so forth so we may seem them travel down here like in the old days. Any student within driving distance needs to get there (student tickets are free, being covered by student services as I understand), youth hockey groups, bring a friend, anything to pack the place. Buy your tickets early and pack the Tsongas.

Looks like a firefighter's helmet.

riverchief - After the game was long over, I was talking to a couple of the parents, and Bertagna walked by. One of the dads says to him "You better get your officiating fixed quickly."

Any reaction from Bertagna?

I think that it's fitting that the two teams playing for the regular season title in the final game to be the first non-big-four team to do so are each hosting one of those same 'big four' in the quarterfinals.

Does anyone have an image of the #CodeBlue checklist that they've been putting on t-shirts? Thinking it might look good on my cube @ the office.

Fitting indeed, I'm happy for PC that they get a home series. First in 10 years! Big IF of course, but if the home teams take care of business in the QFs we would face PC again in the semis right?
